Cogny is a cozy journal for the good things in your day. A kind word, a warm cup, a song that stayed with you: write it down, keep a photo, a video, a song or a voice note with it, and let your days add up to a book you can hold. Gratitude is part of it, and so is everything else that went well.
WRITE THE GOOD THINGS
A few short lines make a whole entry, and a mini question each day helps when nothing comes to mind. Today and yesterday are both open, because some days you get to it late.
KEEP HOW A DAY LOOKED AND SOUNDED
Up to six photos, a video of up to 30 seconds, a voice note of up to two minutes, and a song of the day with a short preview. The calendar shows each day with its first photo, so a month looks like a small album.
HOW DID IT FEEL?
Pick one of seven painted faces, from very low to wonderful, for how a day felt, and choose the feelings that fit, from a short list or in your own words. Monthly and yearly recaps draw how the days felt and which feelings came up most, all worked out on your device.
YOUR DAYS BECOME A BOOK
Turn any stretch of days into a keepsake PDF: your words, photos, songs and feelings on real pages. Choose which journals go in, then print it or keep the file.
TOGETHER, IF YOU WANT
Keep a shared journal with up to four people: a partner, a friend far away, your family. Everyone writes their own days, and you can leave a little something on someone else's.
MADE AROUND YOU
Cogny starts by asking what you would like more of: feeling calmer, noticing good moments, remembering your life, or feeling closer to someone. Your daily questions and reminders lean that way.
LOOK BACK
On This Day brings up what this date held a year or two ago. Search and tags gather the days that belong together. A small sprout marks every day you show up, with one rest day a week, so a missed day breaks nothing.
WHY GOOD THINGS
In 2005, Martin Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania asked people to write down three things that went well each day, and why, every night for one week. After that week of writing, they were still measurably happier six months later. Cogny is built around this exercise. (Seligman et al., 2005, American Psychologist)

Nine warm themes, each working in light and dark, with a background that shifts with the hour. Home screen icons that can follow your theme, and widgets. English, Spanish and Turkish throughout.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your entries are stored on your device. There is no account until you ask for one, no advertising, and no tracking. You can lock Cogny with Face ID. An account is only needed to sync your own devices and to share a journal.
WHAT IS FREE
Unlimited entries and your full history, the calendar, On This Day, the daily question, reminders, the streak, one photo a day, the map, the app lock, three themes, and all three languages. With an account, your text and that photo back up and sync across your own devices.

A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

Cogny 2.0 is a journal for the good things in your day, gratitude included. With Cogny Plus, give a day its song and answer "How did today feel?" with a face and the feelings that fit. The calendar now shows each day's photo. Start with three sections and tap Add section for up to six. Keepsakes let you pick which journals go in, or only your own entries. Also new: a fresh welcome, short tips across Settings, easier-to-read fields and many small fixes. Cogny now counts which parts of the app are used for better analytics, anonymously and never what you write; you can turn this off in Settings.
