A tool needed by all developers, AmSo Compare lets you perform side-by-side comparison and merge of your directories, files, and their content. It lets you see changes down to the character level and copy changes between two or more different versions of a file as needed. It allows for text wrapping and can ignore file formatting, forgiving differences between line wraps, indentation, line lengths and other programmer coding preferences such as where they put the opening braces after an if statement. It features a powerful inline editor for text and hex files, configurable rules based comparison, and supports N-Way comparisons and automated operations such as code merge, and file sync/update/mirroring.
This well designed application features a clean interface with easy to understand controls and icons. Just select or drag-and-drop in two or more items onto it and you're ready to compare and merge. It also remembers all recent items for each side so you can perform repeated comparisons easily.

I just purchase this app wondering if there was even a good app out there that would do what I wanted it to do. I am happy to say this is working wonderfully. I clicked on all 5 stars here, but maybe would rather have been able to give you 4.9. The reason for this score is about color. I am using your app to basically compare folders. And, the results that show, what I presume to be missing files are showing a folder icon that is part black and part dark blue. I have very large monitors and even with these sizes the dark blue on the folder is hard to tell the difference between black and dark blue. It would be nice if I could have this dark blue replaced with a different color in order to tell the difference. Maybe yellow or middle green.
Generic looking but good at what it does

I wanted a compare tool which looked familiar and easy to learn, i mean no crazy colored balloons on each side, and this app fit the bill just fine. It has no menus to open files but to open files with buttons and drag to icon both worked OK and the way it switched between comparing files in directories and comparing lines in files is very handy. I had to compare and update a rather large number of files (more than 100 small text files) and had no problems.
Great App - I'll get a lot of use out of this

Perfect for diffing directories and the contents of the directiories. The interface was intuitive. I loaded up my directories and instantly saw the differences, I doble-clicked on a file to compare the files individually and hit the arrow key to merge/move files across. Easy to use, very helpful!
a good start, but needs some help

a perfect example of the kind of app the App Store is supposed to provide, and, a really great start. I needed to compare the contents of two very large directories, and it helped me do that quickly. I also wanted to merge the contents of those two directories, though, and I couldn't figure out which button would do that. It would be great if you had help bubbles pop up when the user hovered over a button.
This version includes a number of small improvements. It also scans directories faster and maintains their structure on rescans. It had improved cursor and selection in all text editors and fixes alignment issue in Hex editor. And it includes a faster Hex comparison.
