Postgres, MySQL & SQLite at the speed of your editor. Command palette, table quick-switcher, schema-aware SQL autocomplete. Native macOS. Zero telemetry.
DevTables is a native macOS database client for developers who work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite every day — and want their database tool to feel like their code editor: fast, keyboard-first, and out of the way.
Keyboard-First Workflow:
- Command Palette (⇧⌘P) — run any action by name, no menu hunting
- Table Quick-Switcher (⌘P) — jump to any table by typing, the same way you open a file in your editor
- Schema-aware SQL autocomplete — live table, view, and column suggestions (with data types), driven by the tables in your current statement
- Rebindable shortcuts for every common action (Settings → Keymap)
Databases:
- PostgreSQL — browse, edit data and structure, manage users, TLS and SSH tunnels
- MySQL — browse, edit data and structure, manage users, TLS and SSH tunnels
- SQLite — local files, WAL-aware browsing and editing
- OpenObserve — read-only stream browsing and queries
Browsing That Keeps Up:
- Instant, state-preserving table switching — every open table keeps its scroll position, page, sort, and selected row
- Pagination-first browsing with per-table WHERE filters
- Per-table column show/hide, remembered per table and per connection
- Native column sorting, draggable resizing, and multi-row selection
SQL Editor:
- Live syntax highlighting with a draggable editor/result split
- Beautify / Uglify formatting that preserves comments and statement boundaries
- Run All (one result tab per statement) or Run Current (selection or statement)
- Per-connection query history plus saved queries with folders
- Open and run .sql files
Safe, Transactional Editing:
- Row editing with staged changes and an explicit Commit (⌘S) — insert, update, delete, duplicate
- Inline structure editing: columns, indexes, and foreign keys, staged and committed in one transaction
- A Review Changes sheet shows the exact SQL before it runs
- Create / rename / drop tables, create databases, and a guarded Truncate dialog
Import & Export:
- CSV import with per-column mapping and a preview step
- CSV / JSON export for tables and query results — streamed, with progress and cancel
Connections:
- Passwords stored in the macOS Keychain
- TLS settings and SSH tunnels with password and private-key auth (ed25519, ECDSA, RSA)
- Multi-window workspaces, optional session restore, and tap-to-reconnect that keeps your tabs when a connection drops
Private by Design:
- No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no tracking. The only network connections DevTables makes are the ones you configure — to your own databases.
Native macOS performance — no Electron, no web views.
