Divecut reads your camera's metadata, detects the Log format automatically, and shows every clip in the color you actually shot it in. No proxies, no rendering — your original files are never touched.

Divecut recognizes Log footage from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Nikon and Apple, and shows it in the right color automatically. ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW are decoded and displayed correctly too.

"fire", "person on a bridge", "red car at night" — on-device AI finds the shot you remember, not the file you named. It runs on your device; nothing ever leaves your Mac. English search terms currently work best.

Custom thumbnails
Pick the frame that represents a clip. Open it, stop on the frame you want and press S (or use Current Frame as Thumbnail). Divecut writes a PNG named thumb_[clip name].png next to the clip and uses it as the thumbnail. You can also choose any JPEG, HEIC, PNG or RAW photo with Choose Thumbnail Image…, or simply drop a thumb_*.png next to a clip in Finder or the Files app — any PNG named that way becomes the thumbnail. The clip itself is never modified, and nothing is stored in the library database, so the thumbnail travels with your footage. Clips with a custom thumbnail show a small photo badge, and the thumbnail is shown as-is, without display conversion.
Also fixed: contact sheets no longer leave big gaps when a portrait thumbnail is mixed in, and error messages that could be cut off in the toolbar now appear in their own banner.
