Important:
Doppi does not include any music. It's designed to play your music files, that you transfer manually to your device. It does not support playing music from any streaming service, or music that is digitally protected.
The player interface UI could use some work. It feels very disjointed from the rest of the app. I feel like the player card could be way more unified. The elements feel like they were just thrown together. I feel like the album art and playback controls shouldn't be separate, and there is too much empty space at the top, making the player look weird. Also, whenever I'd try to add cover art to a song, the changes would not be saved.
Superb, well-polished app, deserving of its name.
Sarassine
I’ve been searching for ages for a well-designed, beautiful, standalone music player, and somehow missed this gem! It’s full-featured, without any intrusive telemetry or analytics (thank you, developer). The interface is modern and fluid, and it doesn’t feel cluttered or overwhelming. While it may not have the mind-boggling number of features that Poweramp offers (it’s not an iOS app), it shines through with its understated elegance that enhances your music experience without getting in the way. While I have experienced an occasional crash, I feel fairly confident that this will be fixed in coming updates.
Unstable, Crashy and Unreliable
wraithequestrain
Constantly crashes and exhibits strange behavior while doing basic things, like playing audio, which is the only thing it should be able to do well. All the time and effort spent on fancy visuals and animations (that are also broken in places, like the initial invocation of search) and it can’t play back a playlist of 10 plain mp3 songs without hitches, dropouts or crashing. Every track begins with a hitch that repeats the first 10 or so seconds of it, and playback just stops randomly at different times. I have never been able to play a complete album of 10 or 12 regular mp3 files to play through without issues. Also forget about skipping back and forth between tracks, it just cannot handle that. Seems like a bad joke, a toy, rather than a serious reliable tool. Wish I could get my money back.
Best Music Library App
RileyWuzHere
I’ve been using Doppi for years and while I’ve tried many other music library management apps, this one is by far my favorite. The design, ease of use, and the ability to manage my music directly from the files app are why I don’t use any other app for my music library. Radu is providing something no one else does and I hope he keeps this going as long as possible. Thanks for all your hard work!
Fixes and improvements, baby:
• Added an option for current subscribers to buy Lifetime*
• Fixed issue where artwork would display at a smaller than available size in the player
• Increased the rendering efficiency of the superfluous effects that I added because of shifts in imposed fashion**
*Requires manually cancelling subscription after purchasing Lifetime. Upgrade discount available for eligible Yearly subscribers. Ignore all of this if you bought the app over a year ago.
**Okay, I also enjoy them. Both things can be true.
Enjoy!
