Fast Google Drive Compare and Sync from the DriveSync menubar app. DriveSync keeps a local folder and a Google Drive folder in sync from your menu bar, and it never moves a file behind your back. Every push, pull and comparison opens a window that lists exactly what would change: what gets uploaded, what gets downloaded, what gets overwritten, what gets trashed. If you have ever watched a sync client quietly resolve a conflict the wrong way, this is the app for you. # SEE IT FIRST, THEN DO IT • Compare a folder against Drive without changing anything • Push local changes up, or pull remote changes down — one direction at a time, chosen by you • Every planned change is listed with its path, its size and the reason it is there: the local file is newer, the file on Drive is newer, only on one side, both sides changed • Nothing is transferred until you confirm # DELETIONS YOU HAVE TO MEAN • Trashing files that no longer exist on the other side is off by default • When it is on, every deletion is listed in red before anything runs, and you are asked once more • Deleted files go to the Google Drive trash or the macOS Trash — never permanently deleted • If any transfer fails, the deletions are skipped # WHEN GOOGLE SAYS NO, YOU FIND OUT WHY • A refused file shows what Google actually said, not the word "failed" • Reasons are grouped, copyable per file or as a report, and kept after the window is closed • Native Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are listed and skipped, with the reason spelled out # BUILT FOR REAL FOLDERS • Live byte progress against the plan's total, with a percentage per file • Up to 64 parallel transfers, resumable uploads, automatic retries • Checksum, fast or full-verify comparison — your call, per run • Right-click a row to open the file in Finder or at its exact address on Drive • A setup check that confirms the folder, refreshes the token and names the account # PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION DriveSync has no account, no server and no analytics. It talks to Google and to nothing else, using an OAuth client you create in your own Google Cloud project — so no shared credential sits in the middle, your API quota is yours alone, and your files never pass through us. They could not: we operate nothing for them to pass through. Tokens are written beside your files and never leave your Mac. Revoke access in your Google account at any time. # BEFORE YOU BUY DriveSync ships with no Google credentials of its own. You will create an OAuth desktop client in the Google Cloud console once, following our illustrated guide — about ten minutes, one time, per Google account. That step is exactly what keeps your data out of everyone else's hands, but it is fair to know about it up front. If that is not for you, this app is not for you. DriveSync syncs files under My Drive. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are listed but not downloaded, since Google provides no file to download. # BUILT ON OPEN SOURCE DriveSync is powered by dsync, ScaleNinja's open-source command-line tool (MIT licensed), which you can read, audit and run yourself.
