Ratings and Reviews
Im gonna start
With 4 stars, I'm still early in the game.. I hope. I've gotten the bracelet and went to do grandpa's bidding on the island. So far, it has a seemingly interesting story, beautiful graphics, a couple little puzzles so far..(but mostly clicking at the right time when you need to use the bracelet) it's an expensive game so I'm hoping for a loooong story/game at least..
Devs, good job so far, but I'd like suggest to have a way to change the point of view while running place to place. I got stuck a few times at the hole in the road, every time I try to turn around to leave, the game would turn me around and I had to watch the scene where he discovers there's a hole in the road all over again. I actually had to shut the whole game off and restart to leave that scene, & after the whale I had trouble getting back up the way I came, a change of perspective could be very helpful otherwise controls worked fine. Also, maybe a map?.. thanks looking forward to playing more
Interesting game with frustrating controls
I enjoyed the adventure itself, but the joystick-style controls were ineffective on iphone 8 and it felt like it took forever to walk from place to place- it was hard to get the character to walk straight ahead. I would have preferred a different style of controls like ‘tap to walk’. The game is still worth buying though-pretty lengthy gameplay and unique story. This was similar to the game Oxenfree in a lot of ways, so anyone who liked that game would probably like this too.
Could easily be 5 stars, if ...
I love the game and the story so far.
But it‘s almost ruined by the awkward movement of the character and the stubborn camera.
Please rework the jostick, even better give us controller support too so I can play Embracelet on the big screen, where it belongs.
And use the upper half for camera movement by swiping please.
I hope you address this in a coming update, can‘t wait to give you 5 stars then.
UPDATE: Reduced to 1 star. Above still applies, but I won‘t waste any more time with these horrible, imprecise and simply not working controls. The only thing worse is the camera that NEVER looks the way I want it to.
You managed to make a good game totally unplayable. Fix this thing already and add controller support. Aren‘t you even embarrassed to sell something like that?
UPDATE II: Hi Mattis, I believe Controller Support would help, IF at the same time you make the character less jumpy. I really want to play the game, but right now it‘s way more frustrating than fun. Free camera would be optimal, if this is not possible, maybe you could make it more „intelligent“ for lack of a better word?
Developer Response ,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the controls. The game was never designed to have a freely moving camera, so I can't add it after the fact. I will look into controller support and see if that is possible, or perhaps a tap-to-walk option. Thanks for your feedback. Mattis, developer
