Ratings and Reviews
Essential software for my use case!
I use this app to export my music collection and playlists in Apple Music onto a memory card for use in a DAP. The app makes this a painless process and it provides all the options I need and then some. Value for the dollar is extraordinary, I can’t recall ever getting so much value for so little money. And the app is being actively maintained by a dedicated developer who is very quick to address any issues and very willing to help out. An enthusiastic five stars!
The app exports in two different modes, either as Albums or as Playlists. I’ve found that for my collection it’s best to use only one or the other and to not try to combine them for a single output image. I typically want to export my entire collection including playlists, so I use only playlist mode. Since my playlists don’t cover the entire music collection I created a ‘fake’ playlist in Music that includes every track in the collection, and I export that playlist first to export all the tracks to the output location. Then I export the real playlists on top of that to complete the output image. It works like a charm!
Great at what it does
I have been using this app for several years now and I have found it a great way to extract my music from iTunes and copy it to USB drives and external drives. I have multiple Macs and multiple cars and this app makes it easy to get my tunes where I want them when I want them. It might not work for everyone since it can’t copy Apple Music DRM protected files but most of my library is in MP3 format. I have only had to contact the developer one time since 2017 but he answered almost immediately. Cudos for a job well done.
Love it but, see my review on sample/bit rates
I love this app for exporting to USB drive that I play in my vehicle. It's very intuitive, a joy to use. There is only one issue I found but, I also found a solution for. I recorded some music from my vinyl records and some files failed to export in AAC format. Those files had a sample rate of over 48Khz and bit depth of 32. I prefer a higher sample and bit depth for a higher resolution in my music collection on my Mac. But for a USB drive played in my vehicle the lower resolution is ok. The resolution was to re-save the files in my Vinyl Studio software to 48Khz and 24 bits. That resolution still sounds excellent, so I guess human ears can't hear the difference :-)
