The app seems to work as advertised, but, as the notes are exported as .txt files, rich items are not included. For bold, italic, or other similarly basic rich text features, the loss isn’t a big deal (at least for me), but the big problem is that iOS-10-style links shared from Safari or another browser are not preserved, nor are attached pictures or other rich media. I have saved several notes in which the focal point is those links or pictures, so if the note is saved without them, it’s pointless. It would be great if links were there, even as plain-text links, and if notes had attached pictures as separate files with “same-name-pic1”. Same for videos and drawings.Also, I think that the file names for the exported notes should include the modification date of the original note, in order to avoid the renaming of identically titled notes.

A few years ago, I got to opportunity to work with Chintan Ghate as a tester in his effort to make this app better, I was not able to help finish the testing, and was not able to export my Apple Noes fully due to the Exporter’s limitations, such as pdf’s, word and pages documents and call recording not be exported, but he was a kind developer who cares I wish I could have continued. This recent update now allows pdfs, call recording, images, word docs, text inline along with the note correctly and finally exported. I was impressed, to date this is the only app on the Apple App Store that allows a full and complete export of Apple Notes in a simple step. I hope Apple recognizes your work and hope we can continue to use this app and export our apple notes fully. Please continue to work on the app, it is well worth paying for. I hunted for an app to export the data in the Notes app for a while and this so far has been the best easy to use tool to get a full backup of your notes in a readable format. If you’re a notes junkie you should try to get a backup periodically as Apple is not infallible. Along with the potential for a server issue, there’s also hacking, accidents, and so forth. I use the tool a few times a year to export out as HTML in the unlikely but possible situation where I lose notes data. No other app or tool I’ve found does it quite as easy and smoothly. One of these days I’ll need to try and automate the backup - and I wish Apple would support notes better with Time Machine backups! 30 days of cloud recovery is not enough.

My use case: Transferring 3500 notes from Apple Notes to a text based note application. Apple Notes just couldn’t handle the volume anymore—it was slowing down all over the place. This app solved one of my primary fears—created dates. Most exporters convert Apple Notes to text, but then I lose the dates of each note—knowing when a note was taken is just as important as what is in the note. This app preserved created date and even preserved folder structure, which made it so very easy to import into my next applicaiton and keep the same folder structure I alrady had.Well done. It’s simple but has exactly the critical features I needed.
