Will they ever fix it?

Filemail has two things going for it: it's cheap amd the UI is mostly good. The speeds, however are pathetic. On my gigabit (1000 mbps up/down) connection I am getting under 40mbps down through the filemail app today. Uploading is even worse through the app. I actually get OK speeds up (around 200mbps) *sometimes* through the browser interface, but with the app, uploads crawl and often stall. If you want fast, use MASV, not this crap.

Excellent - So Much Faster - Ignore Haters

I just recenlty found this app while trying to download some music software/audio files. The company provided a direct link to download the regular way, this was putting my 2 GB download at estimated 30 mins (way too long for a file that size). They also gave file mail as an option, figured I'd give it a go. After install, the same file downloaded through FileMail in under 2 mins. I didn't even stop the original download - which was only at 15% by the time this finished (With a big headstart). Excellent service, works great and couldn't be simpler for large file downloads. Big fan.

Works great

I've been using it for nearly a year and it's been working well for large media files. I have noticed that the the text entered into the From:: and Subject: fields disappear when clicking in another area like the message body. Clicking back into the From: field causes it to display again but the text in the Subject: field doesn't. This is on 10.13.6 High Sierra.
