It worked great!

This is perfect. Super simple to use, will make my filing system much easier and more visible than the folder tags in Yosemite OS X. Would love to see more colors, but its a great start.

some great features, one big problem

This small app is very easy to use. You can customize colors and save them easily—for example, so that your folders match the color palette of your desktop. For those of us who like strong visual cues, it makes up for the big loss of functionality Mac OS has had for years now.

BUT: for some reason the app washes colors out—lowers the saturation by a lot. So maraschino ends up pink, for example. Maybe this was done to match Apple’s aesthetic? Anyhow, it doesn’t work for me! I can’t even get the level of saturation shown in the final screenshot.

Developer: you’ve got a great product, but let the user set the saturation—the folder should be the same color as the swatch I select. Thanks!

Developer Response ,

Thank you for reporting. The problem you describe was fixed in version 1.3.

I love the simplicity!

I just got this app as my desktop was getting filled with blue folders and it was getting hard to differentiate without squinting. I used to have a Windows computer that had a great application to set folder colors and icons. I browsed around the web for a Mac alternative and this one was that came up. Some other apps offer more tweaking and altering but I just was looking for something affordable, quick, easy and basically just changes the color. This app was it! If you're looking for something very simple to use and gets the job done, I recommend this!
