G2FA offers Google Authenticator's capabilities right here on your Mac. Google Authenticator is one of the most popular One Time Password (OTP) generators for Two-Factor Authentication. Unfortunately, Google Authenticator is only available on mobile devices such as your iPhone and iPad. G2FA offers the same capabilities right here on your Mac. And just like the original app, G2FA works completely offline so you can use it anywhere anytime. Plus, it has no access to internet, so your data is safely stored with G2FA. Key capabilities: • G2FA supports many apps and websites that require Two Factor Authentication such as Google, Facebook, GitHub, GitLab, Twitter and many more. • G2FA does not require sign up and sign in. You can use it right away. • G2FA works completely offline. You can use it anywhere anytime. Plus, G2FA has no internet entilements, which means it does not connect to internet at all. • G2FA can use your Mac's camera to scan QR codes, which isn't normally available on other Two Factor Authenticator apps on macOS. And it works with Continuity Camera on macOS 13 Ventura or later and iOS 16 or later. • G2FA can even scan QR codes from an image. Take a screenshot of the QR code and let G2FA take care of the rest. • G2FA supports both regular OTP QR codes and Google Authenticatior QR codes. Does what it says; could use some polish

G2FA does exactly what it promises to do, which is act as a desktop 2FA app for Google Authenticator. That's an automatc three stars and a firm recommendation if that's what you need.I'd give it four stars if it were a little more polished. The app window is resizable but does not remember how you size it, so when you swap back to it, it's always too large. That's a fundamental enough flaw to cost it a star.Also, this type of app would be perfect as a menubar app but running it that way is not an option. It has to run visibily with an actve icon in the Dock. I'd be fine with menubar support as a premium feature but it's not offered even for payment.In sum: if you want a Google Authenticaor desktop app, this is what you need. However is doesn't offer much beyonf that basic feature, and there may be better options if you want a truly nice Mac experience.

Thank you very much for the feedbacks. It's my bad that I didn't include the feature that the main window should remember its position and size since everything looks good on my screen and I thought it could be fine on other screens. The next update will have it. MenuBar is being worked on. In fact, it was 70-80% complete in the 1.0.12 build. However I need to deal with auto launch at login. That's why it's not activated. Keyboard navigation is also nearly completed. I didn't plan to release version 1.0.12 last week. Not until those features are mature and complete. However, I got a big break through in terms of performance fixing the lag when minizing the windows on devices with Intel UHD GPUs and therefore I couldn't wait to ship it to every G2FA user out there. Would be good if the copy OTP was a button

The free version does not have easy way to copy, each time we have to manually click the menu and select Copy. Would have been nice to have it as a button which we can directly press to copy to clipboard, like teh defunct Authy desktop did.

Auto backup doesn't work

I started auto-backup on this thing back in August. Have added several other TOTP setups since then, but when I went to restore my auto-backup, it hadn't been touched since the initial backup. I was storing on a NAS via SMB to a folder that is always mounted when I login. Not sure what happened there, but none of my newer 2FA codes were backed up. Not when I added them, not when I started G2FA and not when I closed it. Just the first time I set it up. So, it's a backup, just not automated, and I'm not sure what qualifies as an external location, since it isn't documented, it's just a menu item in settings.

External location means any folder that you pick such as your Home folder or iCloud. Due to App Store's requirements about app-sandbox, G2FA can only access the folder via bookmark. When you log out, your Mac will disconnect to the NAS, therefore the bookmark of the selected folder will be revoked. I'm sorry that I didn't think of the situation before because I always use iCloud, whose bookmark data is stable and not revoked when users log out, and I assumed it's the preferred "external" location. And I highly recommend iCloud. It's the most secure and built right into the system. Anyway I'm sorry for your loss. I should have thought about that in the first place. Best regards.

I was able to easily import all of my existing by scanning the QR codes (10 per QR) using export from Google Auth iphone app. So really easy set up and now have it on all my devices. Thanks!

• G2FA now requires macOS Mojave or later. Support for High Sierra has been dropped. • The main window remembers the position and size after app quits.
