Greenshot 4+

I used this on my old work PC, the (free) version on my old windows laptop. I was happy to pay for it to have it on my Mac, but the editor has very few options, and the design of the arrows and fonts and text boxes don't look professional. I wish it had the same design preferences/options as the free PC version of Greenshot.

For example - remove shadows behind arrows/text, fill in boxes behind text, wider range of colors to choose from, font options, shortcut to recapture same screen area... I could go on. This is too basic and too unprofessional looking. Hopefully they release an update in the future, I loved Greenshot when I used a PC.

I'm glad there is some love for OS X, but I really hope we get close to feature parity with Windows this decade...

The main lacking area is the editor. The Windows editor is so productive - it's very very easy to quickly mark up screenshots on Windows (text, arrows, shapes, etc), easy to move objects around, easy to blur areas, etc. the Mac version has very limited options compared to Windows. Using Preview on OS X is SO PAINFUL for quickly marking up screenshots compared to Greenshot for windows... I wish Greenshot for OS X could get just a little bit closer to the Windows editor. I'd be willing to pay more to get closer to editor parity on Windows.

I've been a longtime Greenshot user, but am now having to find greener pastures elsewhere. The main issue is when trying to copy/paste images into another application (like Chrome or Slack). This causes the target application to become unresponsive, and then it has to be force quit. Because of this - Greenshot has become unusable. I hope the developers remedy the situation sometime soon, because it really is a quality app otherwise.
