It computes cryptographic hashes for your files and compares them - a reliable, verifiable way to tell whether files are identical, modified, or unique to one place. Everything runs locally on your Mac. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Confirm a backup, copy, or download is byte-for-byte identical to the original - Find duplicate files across two or more folders, even when their names differ - See exactly which files changed between two versions of the same folder - Prove that a set of files has not been altered since you last recorded them - Audit a software deployment and confirm no files were modified after the build MANIFEST VERIFICATION Export file hashes from a panel as a manifest, then use it later to check what changed. Import a manifest CSV file to enter Verification Mode, link it to a folder, and HashAgent Pro re-hashes that folder and reports every file as Unchanged, Modified, Missing, or New. Quick Verify skips re-hashing files whose size and modification date still match the manifest, making re-checks much faster on large folders; full hash verification catches changes a size/date check would miss. A saved manifest lets you re-verify a backup or archive later, even when the original files are no longer available. SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON Load files from different locations into separate panels and compare them at the same time. Two to four panels cover most everyday workflows, with up to 10 panels for advanced, multi-monitor audits. Four instant filters keep you focused: - All: every file across all panels - Match: files with identical hashes - Diff: files found in multiple panels with different hashes - Unique: files that appear in only one panel HASH ALGORITHMS Sixteen algorithms, from modern cryptographic hashes to fast checksums: SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, the SHA-3 family, BLAKE2b, BLAKE3, and CRC32/CRC64, among others. Switch algorithms at any time and all panels update automatically. MD5 and SHA-1 are available for compatibility with older systems and archives. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens on your Mac.
