HazNode Field is the on-site companion to HazNode, the platform occupational hygiene and safety consultants use to run their work end to end.
It does three things properly: recording what you see the moment you see it, working through inspections where they happen, and reporting incidents from the spot — so the record is written on the floor, not from memory at the end of the day.
STARTS WHERE YOU ARE
Open the app and it already knows which site you're on. Your position is read to put the nearest site first, and again when you sign off an inspection so the finished record shows where it was signed. Wrong site? Change it in one tap. Anything in progress is waiting on the home screen.
OBSERVATIONS IN SECONDS
Choose what you saw — safe behaviour worth recognising, or something at risk. Pick a category, rate an at-risk observation, write a line and add photos. Nothing sends until you tap Record. Your register groups everything by day, at this site or across all of them, filtered to recent, at-risk or your own.
INSPECTIONS FROM YOUR TEMPLATES
Start from one of your organisation's templates and work through it item by item. Progress saves as you go, so a 58-item inspection can be paused at item 12 and picked up later on any phone. Answers that need a note or a photo say so before you can sign off.
INCIDENTS, REPORTED ON THE SPOT
Report a near miss, an injury or illness, property damage or an environmental event on a single screen. Add photos and what was done straight away. Your register then shows what happened to each report as it is triaged and investigated.
Sensitive incidents stay that way. A restricted incident appears as a locked entry with nothing but its reference and status, and personal and injury details stay in the web module — the phone never displays them.
DICTATE INSTEAD OF TYPING
Every description field takes the iPhone's built-in dictation. Gloves on, in a plant room, halfway up a ladder — what you saw still gets written properly instead of being reduced to three words.
ADD A SITE WITHOUT LEAVING THE GATE
Sent somewhere new? Add the site from your phone with address search, and it is ready for the inspection you are about to run.
WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL
Plant rooms, basements and remote sites are exactly where coverage disappears and where records most need making. Opening the app on wifi is enough to prepare it: sites, categories and templates are held on the device. Anything captured offline waits in a queue, photos included, and sends itself when the connection returns. The Offline screen shows what is queued, what is held, and when the app last packed.
FOR CONSULTANCIES AND FOR THEIR CLIENTS
A consultant working across several client organisations chooses which one they are on site for, and everything captured is filed to that client. A client organisation's own team sees only its own sites and records. Organisations are separated on the server, not filtered on the phone.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Everything captured lands immediately in HazNode on the web, where observations are triaged, assigned and closed out, incidents are investigated, inspections are reviewed, and all of it feeds the reporting a consultancy issues to its clients.
REQUIREMENTS
HazNode Field requires an existing HazNode account. It is a companion to a subscription held by your organisation, not a standalone product, and there is nothing to buy inside the app. If your organisation is not yet using HazNode, visit haznode.com.
