Way overpriced

When I first started using these apps just a couple of years ago, lifetime access to the pro version was $15 - now it is $120! This price increase is exorbitant and the app is just not worth that much. There are so many better apps and websites available that provide so much more for so much cheaper. I would have happily paid up to $30 for lifetime access to this - but the current price is insane. And considering the free version content is so incredibly limited, not only will I not be paying for pro, I will not be using these apps to continue learning and when I talk to others about good apps, I will be telling them to avoid this entire series. Greedy, money grubbing, cash grab is all this is now. Update 5/4 - they stopped doing ad supported content, which means the free version has even less content than before. Reducing my rating to 1 star.

The \$15 lifetime pricing was part of an early launch phase years ago — since then, we've added a lot of new content and features. While the lifetime option is now less common, we offer monthly and annual plans that are very affordable — the annual plan, for instance, gives you 6 months free.As for the removal of ads, we did it to improve the experience. Many users couldn’t access ad-supported content at all, especially in countries like China or Russia. Now, that content is open for free — including stories, games, and basic exams — even without ads. Only lessons remain partially locked.We truly believe these changes make the free version more usable, not less. Still, we respect your opinion and thank you for giving our apps a try. 🐼

Okay. This app has some nice features, although it is expensive. The picture flash cards are unusable as the images selected make no sense to an English speaker, it’s as if a 5 year old randomly picked the images.Y main complaint is that even after paying the exorbitant price, you are still barred fromusing the content freely. I liked the app enough to want to buy Level 5, but 34.00 is ridiculous and, again, content will be locked after paying. Fix this and lower the price for level 5.

Hi, thanks for your review & feedback! First and most important, all the content is included on the PRO version, nothing requiere more payments. But, the Flashcard games are locked until you unlock some amount of flashcards. The flashcards can be unlocked in regular character games (Multi choice, Hanzi choice, Tones, etc). So, like any other app or game, some content/games requiere that you complete before other games, but it has nothing related with the payment. Second but not less importante! :) About Flashcards: some words are nearly impossible to represent with an image: prepositions, adverbs, special Chinese particles... but we do our best to represent all HSK words with a simple icon-image. No one have tried it, it is an insane work. But, as always, any Chinesimple app content is open to changes, we are hearing all users feedback to replace or improve any Flashcards. Indeed, we have replaced many HSK 1, 2 & 3 flashcards with new ones during v3.0 update. When the HSK4 v3.0 vocabulary cards will be released, we will also take some time to review v2.0 cards.
