Map now loads faster as contacts sync. Search picks up contact edits, and the “Other” filter now shows every pin it should.

4.0 is a major under-the-hood update that makes Sidewalk faster, more reliable, and easier to use. NEW • Offline banner: Sidewalk now tells you when you're offline, so you know why new addresses aren't appearing yet. • Simpler setup: Pre-permission screens are dropped in favor of standard iOS prompts for Contacts and Location access. Syncing begins once you've answered both. • Privacy Policy and Terms of Use now live in the settings menu. IMPROVEMENTS • Faster, smarter contact sync: Your map updates quickly and uses less battery. • Sync you can see: Changes sync while the app is open, so the progress bar shows you what's happening. • Cleaner addresses: Country is no longer shown in addresses, so they're shorter and easier to read. • Search results now refresh automatically when contact locations change. • Callout rows use a cleaner subtitle layout. • More reliable geocoding, with better handling of rate limits and duplicate contacts. • Updated translations across all supported languages. Thanks for using Sidewalk! If you enjoy it, a rating or review on the App Store helps a lot.

• More dependable pin placement thanks to improved geocoding under the hood • Better handling when you reach your free geocoding limit • Bug fixes and performance improvements

• Search by address is back - find contacts by street, city, or postal code, in addition to name and organization. • Fixed an issue where contacts with two similar addresses wouldn't appear on the map. Each address now gets its own pin. • Switching between filters is now instant, thanks to smarter caching of your contacts. • The Subscribe button now activates only when pricing is ready, preventing accidental taps before the App Store responds. Thanks for using Sidewalk! If you enjoy the app, please consider leaving a review.

Respect the geocoding request limit for non-subscribers.

You should see one smooth progress update instead of multiple resets, even when processing many contact changes after an extended period.

This update refines the app’s appearance in Dark Mode for a more balanced and consistent visual experience. We’ve also improved search behavior — when a search term returns no results, Sidewalk now clearly displays “No Results for ‘X’” instead of a static placeholder.

New or updated contact addresses now appear immediately on the map.

Bug fixes and performance enhancements

Users who have reached their geocoding request limit should still see their previously geocoded contacts.

To keep Sidewalk sustainable, we’ve added a 20-request limit for non-subscribers. Each geolocation request comes with a real cost, and this change helps cover those expenses. Subscribers get unlimited access and help support the ongoing development of the app. Thanks for being part of the journey!
