It's been a minute! But we're back with an updated version of BuoyWhale that fixes several annoying bugs related to onboarding. This version also requires iOS 15.3 or later. We've rebuilt BuoyWhale with the latest Apple developer tools and libraries to ensure the app runs smoothly on all of the latest Apple devices.

It's been a while. But, we are back with a new release! New in this release: ● Refreshed the visuals on the Buoy Conditions view. ● Added a link to the NDBC web site for the selected buoy on the Buoy Conditions view. ● Lots of under the covers updates to modernize the code and enable new features in coming updates. Bugs fixed in this release: ● Alert label does not correctly update at the beginning of dragging the alert slider. ● Alert changes silently fail sometimes.

This release focuses on stability. Several pesky crashes were fixed. This version, 2.7.2, will be the last release to support iOS 10 and iOS 11. This version will continue to work for the foreseeable. However, it will not receive any further updates. Beginning with BuoyWhale 3.0, the minimum iOS version required will be 12.0.

This release focuses on improved application stability and enhanced error reporting. New in the previous release are enhanced push notifications on iOS 12 and later. We said that the prior release would be the final version to support iOS 9 devices. However, we found a few additional rough edges that we decided needed to be fixed for iOS 9 users. So, here is the final, final release to support iOS 9. Fixed in this release: - Fixed an issue where the Tell A Friend view would sometimes not load on iPhones running iOS 9. - Fixed an issue where sharing a link to BuoyWhale via email from the Tell A Friend menu would not populate the subject field. - Fixed an issue where the Tell A Friend view could crash after sending an email. - Fixed an issue where the main menu could have a white background making it unreadable on iOS 9. - Fixed an issue where a selected menu item did not appear highlighted in the main menu. We fixed a couple of iOS 13 specific bugs: - User location became unavailable after upgrading to any version of iOS 13. User location now works properly. - BuoyWhale Settings page crashed in settings.app. There is a bug in iOS 13's settings.app that causes settings pages to crash when they contain text fields. This is mostly a performance tuning and bug fix release. But, we did add a couple of new features: New in this release: ● The Buoy Conditions view now displays the distance from your current location to the buoy, if your current location is available. ● When buoys are being filtered, you will now seek a 'filter key' in the upper right corner of the map showing which filters are active. We've been busy adding new features, fixing bugs, and improving the overall app experience! New in this release: ● In the Buoy Details view, when wave information is available, wave direction (mwd) is now displayed when the buoy provides it. Note: not all buoys that provide wave data provide wave direction data. ● New buoy filters. You can now filter the buoys displayed to show only those that include Wave data, and/or Tide data. These filters work in addition to the existing Favorites, and Active filters. ● When viewing either the map view, or the buoy list view, if a filter is applied the title will now say, "Filtered Buoys" so you know you've set a filter. ● We have an updated Terms of Service. You will be prompted to review and accept it. ● Some menu item names have been updated to better reflect their purpose or action. ● No more blank "Manage Alerts" view if you haven't set any alerts. There is now text to explain how to create alerts. ● No more blank "All Buoys" view if you have filters applied or a connection problem that results in an empty list. Bug Fixes: ● Fixed a crash that could occur when changing a setting immediately after running BuoyWhale for the first time. ● Fixed a bug where Tide Height could sometimes be reported in meters when it was supposed to be reported in feet. ● Fixed a couple of other less noticeable bugs. This release fixes an issue in the wind and pressure charts where invalid or empty data for a time slot could result in the chart not being rendered properly.

This release addresses a crash discovered after the release of BuoyWhale 2.1.0. In certain situations, BuoyWhale would crash when installed on an iOS device that did not already have a prior version of BuoyWhale installed. Users upgrading from a previous release to version 2.1.0 were not affected. A few other minor issues where also fixed.

- The buoy map, buoy list, and buoy details views now automatically update every 5 minutes if you leave the app open. - Switched back to AdMob ads from Amazon ads. - Fixed a bug where BuoyWhale could crash during subscription purchase. - Several other bug fixes. - Code and architecture optimizations in preparation for some exciting new features coming in future releases!

This release adds features to make BuoyWhale more customizable. - Added setting to change distance measurement units between nautical miles, miles, and kilometers. - Added setting to change time between 12hr and 24hr time. - Added a filter to hide (red) buoys with stale data on the map and in the 'All Buoys' list. We also fixed multiple bugs to improve stability and performance.
