Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart is the author of The Expositor’s Study Bible (ESB). To date, the ESB has been translated from its original English version into Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, and has sold more than 1.8 million copies.
In the 1990s, the Lord impressed upon Brother Swaggart to produce a study Bible that would be easy for preachers and laypeople alike to read and understand. In the latter part of that decade (1997), the Lord revealed to him the Message of the Cross, which revolutionized the evangelist’s life and ministry. As understanding of “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” continued to unfold, Brother Swaggart knew this message would serve as the cornerstone for the study Bible he had been instructed by the Lord to produce, as well as for his worldwide ministry.
In 2001, the Holy Spirit showed Brother Swaggart the format of how this Bible would be presented, which he and his staff followed to the letter, making the ESB one of the most unique Bibles in the world today. All Scripture text inside the ESB is typeset in black, making the Word of God stand out against the red expository notes that follow nearly every verse. This user-friendly format seems to please readers who appreciate the in-depth commentary so visually close to the sacred text.
Since the primary goal of this project was to help explain the Scriptures, the word expositor was chosen for its title. Each expository note draws from six decades of Brother Swaggart’s personal Bible study and the insights he’s collected from some of the finest Hebrew and Greek scholars in the world. This single resource, just under 2,500 pages, gives readers the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Word of God in a way, according to the evangelist, that the Holy Spirit desires.
FEATURES
This interactive app makes the navigation from Book, Chapter and Verse much easier than traditional e-Book versions. As well, the reader is able to search, highlight, comment, bookmark and turn Brother Swaggart’s commentary notes off and on at one simple touch.
After years of use with occasional crashes this app does not run on the new version of iPad software just locks up and turns off 14.4 iPad Pro 12.9. I am very disappointed in the response or should I say the non response to any type of support. Do not waste your money on this app. Just read the expositors bible it seems to have more notes anyway...

I had to update my review on this app and lower my rating for it because the audio is no longer loading and the app keeps crashing, so it’s not very useful right now. I keep getting a messages saying “Unable to connect to server”, and “Unable to to download audio file, problem with network.” After getting these message it crashes. Please fix these issues… I bought this because I wanted the audio bible, and it works however, I am disappointed that you have to be connected to the Internet in order for it to work. I wish it could have automatically been downloaded with the app so that you could listen to the audio offline. Second, you are only able to choose the book and chapter you want but not the verse, and this needs to be corrected because being able to choose the verses would make things a lot easier. Finally, add page numbers as well because this too would help a lot.

This bible is the BEST. The expositor notes are spiritually anointed and provide the reader an excellent understanding of God’s word. I’m glad to see this app back on the App Store. It was a bit clunky in the past but works great now. You can highlight, take notes, create bookmarks, search key words, audio dialogue that readers the entire bible along with the expositor notes and so much more. It’s a very beneficial tool. Thank you Jimmy Swaggart ministries for this app, it is an excellent tool for the spreading of the word of ALL MIGHTY GOD. Signed, SBN Media Church member.

I am grateful and would pay the same regardless if there were no audio offered, but I would love to have the audio, unfortunately I am unable to get audio as well, is there someway this can be fixed? Thank you for the app, God bless! Okay I found the audio at the bottom of the pages, yeah! Going to try it out!
