The professional XLIFF editor for macOS. Edit XLIFF 1.2 and 2.x files with full tag support, translation memory, AI-powered translation, and seamless Xcode integration.
XLIFF Editor is a powerful, native macOS translation editor built for professional translators and developers. Open, edit, and save XLIFF 1.2 and XLIFF 2.x files with complete round-trip fidelity. Every tag, attribute, and metadata element is preserved exactly as it was.
COMPLETE XLIFF SUPPORT
Edit both XLIFF 1.2 and XLIFF 2.x documents with full specification compliance. Inline formatting tags like bold, italic, and placeholders are displayed as visual chips that can’t be accidentally deleted or corrupted. CDATA sections, namespaced metadata, context groups, and custom extensions all round-trip perfectly through every save.
XCODE INTEGRATION
Open .xcloc localization bundles created by from Xcode. Edit translations inside the bundle and save back without touching any other bundle contents. The perfect companion for iOS and macOS app localization workflows.
TRANSLATION MEMORY (TMX)
Import and export TMX files to leverage your existing translations. Alt-trans matches and translation memory suggestions appear as expandable child rows beneath each segment, showing match quality percentages. Apply a match to your target with a single click.
AI-POWERED TRANSLATION
Integrate AI translation services to accelerate your workflow. Get translation suggestions for individual segments or batch-translate entire files. AI translations are clearly marked for review so nothing ships without human oversight.
PROFESSIONAL EDITING
Every feature a professional translator expects: inline editing for plain text segments, a dedicated tag-aware editor for segments with formatting, full undo/redo with named actions, find and replace across source, target, notes, and IDs with regex and fuzzy matching support.
SMART STATUS TRACKING
Visual status indicators show translation progress at a glance: red for untranslated, yellow for needs review, clear for final. Filter to show only untranslated or needs-review segments. Counts update live in the source list as you work.
NOTES & CONTEXT
Read and edit translator notes directly in the outline. Developer notes, context information, and engineering comments are displayed alongside each segment so you always have the context you need.
MULTI-FILE NAVIGATION
Navigate multi-file XLIFF documents with the source list sidebar. Each file shows untranslated and needs-review counts. Switch between files instantly with full expansion state preservation.
KEYBOARD-DRIVEN WORKFLOW
Tab through segments without touching the mouse. The editor opens automatically for tagged segments. Arrow keys navigate, Return opens the editor, Tab advances to the next segment. Every action is available from the keyboard.

In version 2.0.4, as soon as you click the second line in the editor window, the app crashes. Hope a new version fixes this.

Best XLIFF tool in the app store

I'm using XLIFF for localizing an iOS app - and I tried pretty much all of the apps available in the Mac app Store... Outside of this one, all the ones I tried are pretty much garbage. (I did not try Linguan do it it's higher price). Some reviewers have noted crashing - and so far I've experience none. I'm able to open my XLIFF exported from XCode, see missing translations, make edits, and re-import back into XCode. I rated 4 stars, not 5 cause I'm sure there are advanced features realting to XLIFF that I don't even know about yet that I might someday want. But for right now, this is totally meeting my needs as an iOS developer.

Crashes frequently

Not sure what gives but this app crashes at a dropof a hat. I’m running the latest MacOS so maybe that’s the issue. Happy to update my review if they can resolve but the app as it stands now is useless to me.
