Rip CDs and convert WAV, AIFF, ALAC (Apple Lossless), MP3, WMA, and 200+ other audio and video formats to lossless FLAC on your Mac. To FLAC Converter 2 is a CD ripper and FLAC converter that turns your discs and files into a clean, tagged, CD-quality music library:
• Rip CDs and convert audio or video to FLAC in one click
• Get the best possible quality with automatic FLAC settings, or set sample rate, channels, bit depth, and compression yourself
• Keep your tags and album covers - they transfer from source files automatically
• Import CDs and playlists from the Music app or iTunes
• Save rips to your Music folder, an external drive, or a NAS
WHY FLAC?
FLAC is lossless: your rips sound exactly like the CD, take about half the space of WAV, and play everywhere - from hi-fi streamers and NAS libraries to smartphones and car audio. Convert your CD collection once, and make MP3 or AAC copies from it anytime.
INPUT FORMATS
More than 200 audio and video formats, including WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A, WMA, OGG, MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, FLV, 3GP, MPG, and DV.*
AUTOMATIC FLAC SETTINGS
To FLAC Converter analyzes the bit depth, sample rate, and channels of your source audio and applies optimal FLAC settings, preserving sound quality while saving disk space. Prefer manual control? Choose sample rate up to 384 kHz, mono or stereo, compression level, bit depth (8/16/24 bit), and Vorbis / ID3v2 tag format in Settings.
TAGS AND ALBUM COVERS
Tags and artworks transfer from your source files, the Music app, or iTunes. Artworks can be converted to JPEG or PNG and resized to keep your library tidy. Check and polish the results with the companion Tag Editor app.
FREE TO USE

Crippled and Naggy
TheMacDaddy
The app works, but you can't refine the settings; the settings are very basic.
Developer Response
Dear TheMacDaddy, thank you for the feedback. Please open application Preferences to customize all aspects of conversion, including FLAC format customization, volume normalization, audio effects, tags transfer and download, and other options for batch conversion. Also, please email support@amvidia.com about what settings you would like to refine if they are not customizable.
Really Good
KDHogman
Bought this app after frustration with others that could convert some formats but not others (eg, failing to convert high bitrate wavpack .wv files) to FLAC. This app converted everything I’ve thrown at it. It has lots of flexible options that can be set if desired to structure the output (and output location) exactly as the user wants. And, it has a normalization option that can be used to level the volume of the output so that, when played, there is no need to constantly turn the player volume up or down from song to song or album to album. Super responsive developer, too. Highly recommended.
Does the job well

I have used the premium version to rip CD to FLAC and worked well. WIth the premium version the app ($9.99) the app was able to automatically download cover art and it attached properly to the FLAC files.
Developer Response
Hello, thank you for using To FLAC Converter Lite and for the great feedback! Best Regards, Amvidia Team
Fine for files but...
harditoatx
I’ve tried ripping a CD and it will not convert to anything but AIFF and then you have to convert files. Tech support was beyond bad. I was either dealing with a bot, or someone that doesn’t understand English well as I kept stating the problem and the answer was not related.
Developer Response
Hello, please download To Audio Converter by Amvidia to rip CDs into MP3, WAV, AIFF, or M4A (AAC) formats.
To FLAC Converter 2.0.2 - better CD rips, smarter FLAC file names, rock-solid on macOS 26.
NEW
- Advanced Renaming gains a large set of tokens: dates, ratings, performers and conductors, works, movements and parts, language, video properties, and more. Name ripped FLACs exactly how your music library expects - track number, artist, album, year, disc, and beyond.
- Folder organizing works with the same new tokens, so rips land in artist and album folders built from your tags - ready for any media server, streamer, or player.
- Drag links straight from your browser to start a download, keeping correct file and playlist names.
IMPROVED
- Clearer messages for unsupported codecs and non-audio links, so you know what to do next.
- Stability and polish for macOS 26
