I have two high energy children who are creative and independent so I wanted to find something that was visual, behavior specific and rewards based so that I could promote positive behavior without “dulling their sparkle” with negative feedback. I want them to grow and learn appropriate behavior but I don’t want them to see me as the “Mommy Police” especially since I am a single parent. My kids are loving earning their smiles and are willing to talk about their sad faces. Working towards those special treats, outings and toys has them very excited!

REWARDS:
Our totally redesigned rewards interface makes it super easy for kids to see the value of their hard-earned Smiles. Our new Rewards Ring shows at a glance how far your child’s spending smiles go towards each reward. By tapping each reward, kids can see how close they are to earning each, and how many they can get if they have enough Smiles. It’s fast, fun and really helps kids understand the relative value of their Smiles. And spending smiles is easier, too!
PROGRESS REVIEWS:
We’ve also redesigned our review screen to really unlock the power of regularly reviewing progress with your kids. Now this tool is much more powerful, with a new summary section that shows your child’s progress since the last review, a more complete history of behaviors and rewards, and a simple way to reset the scoreboard count to give your child a fresh shot at success! And we’ve even added Review Reminders, to help you get into a groove here.
KIDS VIEW AND KIDS REQUESTS:
We’re continuing to evolve the functionality of Smiles & Frowns: Kids View, the companion app that lets your kids connect with their boards from their own screens. Now, managing Kids View and Kids Requests for your whole family is easy to do on one screen, which you’ll find in your Settings menu. It’s a great way to engage your kids like never before.
BOARD SET-UP AND EDITING:
We’ve introduced a new board setup wizard that makes creating a new board a snap. It walks you through adding your people, behaviors and rewards to a new board in minutes. It also gives you the option to set review reminders to help keep your kids excited and engaged.
USER SETTINGS:
Even our user settings have gotten a complete overhaul, with better organization and slide-down tools that make managing your profile, notifications and kids view a breeze.

We are thrilled to introduce our most important update to Smiles & Frowns ever, with major upgrades to each of the four main sections of the app – people, behaviors, rewards and reviews. This is a true “2.0” release, and our small team (of two dads) couldn’t be happier to bring this to families everywhere!
OVERALL DESIGN:
We’ve taken three big steps here to improve the user experience for you:
– We’ve introduced a new “info module” design that groups key information clearly throughout the app, making everything easier to read at a glance.
– We’ve added quick-slide toolbars that bring the tools you need right to you, right when you need them. This makes everything – from giving out rewards to editing your boards – faster and easier than ever before.
– We’ve introduced an all new onboarding wizard that makes creating your first board – and every board after – much easier. We've also added a way for you to preview our pre-built behavior lists, so you can see what Around the House, Chores & More and Teacher's Helper have to offer.
