All new: every zone at a glance, advanced audio settings, scenes, Shortcuts, widgets and a fresh design. No receiver nearby? Try the built-in demo.
AVR Control puts your Denon or Marantz AV receiver in your Mac's menu bar. Turn zones on and off, set the volume, switch inputs and pick a sound mode with one click, then go further with advanced settings, scenes and automation.
Version 2.0 is rebuilt from the ground up, with a brand new design for macOS.
EVERYDAY CONTROL
• Every zone at a glance: Main, Zone 2 and Zone 3 with their power, volume and input
• Volume that matches your receiver's display and respects its volume limit
• Inputs with the names you gave them on the receiver; hidden inputs stay hidden
• Sound modes and Quick Select (Smart Select on Marantz)
• Tuner with band, frequency, seek and presets
• Browse Favorites, Internet Radio and Media Server, and see what's playing
ADVANCED SETTINGS
• Tone, dialog and subwoofer levels, LFE and audio delay
• Audyssey MultEQ, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, Cinema EQ
• Channel levels for every speaker
• HDMI output, picture mode, sleep timer, ECO mode, display dimmer and 12V triggers
• A console for sending any control command
AVR Control asks your receiver what it supports and shows only those settings.
SCENES AND AUTOMATION
• Scenes run several steps at once: turn on, switch to Blu-ray, choose Dolby and set the volume
• Run scenes when your Mac wakes or goes to sleep, or at a set time every day
• Shortcuts and Siri actions, including Get Status
• Global keyboard shortcuts for volume, mute, power and any scene
• avrcontrol:// links for Raycast, Alfred, Stream Deck and scripts
• Desktop widgets, and Control Center controls on macOS 26
SIMPLE AND PRIVATE
AVR Control finds your receiver on your network automatically, or you can enter its IP address. Save several receivers and switch between them. No account, no cloud, no tracking: everything stays on your home network. No receiver handy? Try the built-in demo.
REQUIREMENTS
• A Denon or Marantz AV receiver with network control, on the same network as your Mac
• To turn the receiver on from your Mac, set Network Control to Always On in the receiver's network settings

Handy utility

I really like being able to control my Denon amp from my laptop. The developer will get 5 stars if I can modify the UI to match my use of my amp. I don't use the radio (does it even have a radio?) so I would like to remove that display. I use only two inputs and have renamed them in my amp's display. I would like to do the same in AVR Control. Lastly, I don't see a way to launch after reboot. I could put it in the startup group setting in Control Panel but that seems avoidable with the proper app setting option.
Nice and Simple (but expensive for what it is)

This app does the main thing I wanted it to do, control the volume and set intput, mute, power. It does not do much else. Has a nice clean professional UI. A bit expensive for what it is though, hopefully more functionality will be added (e.g. sound mode).
Works great and now has Zone 3 Support

When I first bought the app to use with my Denon AVR-6700H, I was disappotinted to see that I couldn't control zone 3. I contacted the developer and in less than a week, the app was udpated to support control of zone 3 and it's working great. I really appreciated the quick response so I can use this to control everything from my Mac instead of needing to use my phone and the HEOS app. Thank you!
A nice app that does basic functions

The web browser based interface for new Denon AVRs does not seem to let you do anything but set things up and power the receiver zones on and off. This nice little app does the stuff that seems to be impossible - change the volume, change the input. All in a nice tidy package. Reduced my frustration level from "very high" to "none".
This update fixes volume control on Marantz network players such as the M-CR603:
• Volume changes in the same steps as your player again, instead of jumping to the maximum.
• Only the zones your player actually has are shown.
Thanks to everyone who reported it!
