Not bad, but not my first choice

I think this app is fine for watching videos, it doesn't have any glaring down sides to it. But it does appear have a few minor issues that keep it from being great. This is no disrespect to its development team, it just seems like the app is still fairly young and needs time to mature into a great viewing app. Give it a shot, I use it when QT won't play audio sometimes, as well as adjust the playback speed with QT can't do.
My Thoughts

The application is pretty good for the most part. It plays better than most MKV players out there, but the one thing it’s not all that great at is when one uses the forward or reverse controls. It jumps too far forward or behind compared to Elmedia Player. Elmedia Player is the best video player for Macs, but for some reason it isn’t working on my MacBook, so I downloaded the next best option, which is this one. It’s a solid 4 stars out of 5.
Excellent video player

I love this application. I watch movies and tv series on my macbook and this plays them perfectly with no issues. I am using a 2009 macbook with Sierra.I have had zero issues with this app. I have tried all the other free ones in the app store and none of them are as good as this one. Don’t waste your time with any of the others. Download this one and you will like it.

Thank you for your review.
Super helpful
"adam" was taken
when I try to use the scrolling feature its a bit wonky. for examle it will zoom in and out a lot when I want to go forwards or backwards. also if I accidentally have my palm on the touch pad and try to move the mouse with my finger, itll skip around in the video a good bit
1. Added the Balanced HDR tone-mapping algorithm, available from the HDR menu during playback. We tested it extensively on Mac with a wide variety of videos: shadows are clearer, highlights look more natural, and the overall image is better balanced. If you are unsure which algorithm to choose, try Balanced first; we believe most viewers will prefer it.
2. Improved color and brightness processing for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG videos, along with better compatibility for some Dolby Vision Profile 7 videos.
3. Optimized HDR tone mapping to improve shadow and highlight rendering in some videos on SDR displays.
4. Improved color-conversion accuracy for SDR and wide-gamut videos, as well as videos using different YUV color spaces.
5. Corrected chroma sample positioning in some videos to reduce misalignment along high-contrast colored edges.
6. Improved tonal gradation and hue reproduction in highly saturated colors and HDR highlights.
7. Improved playback stability with unusual video formats and invalid metadata.
