Trimble Connect is a project collaboration platform built for construction industry. Project stakeholders can easily share, comment on, and manage the project documents, photos, drawings, and 3D models through the cloud across the design, build, and operate phases of a project. This information can be seamlessly accessed across Desktop, Web, or Mobile environments depending on a stakeholder’s role or tasks.
Trimble Connect Mobile App is simple to use and specifically designed for professionals working in remote or field environments such as the construction job site manufacturing facilities, or in project meetings or presentations. It is designed for one click access to the specific information needed to complete tasks that have been organized by the back office using Trimble Connect for Web or Desktop. Project information and files can be stored locally in the mobile application for offline use where internet access isn’t always accessible. Any new Tasks, called ToDos, can be created or modified while offline, then synchronized to the cloud once reconnected to the internet.
One key differentiating feature within Trimble Connect Mobile App is its high-performance 3D model viewer. Large complex detailed construction models created by a variety of different Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications in multiple formats (IFC, SKP, RVT, DWG, etc.) can be quickly loaded, overlaid, and easily navigated through in a simple intuitive touch based interface.

This app was never amazing, syncs pretty slow but pretty useful to pull up anything in the field and upload whatever I needed to await from my computer. Recently the app decided to stop syncing. I can still access everything on the website from my computer, but I cannot sync it to the app. It’s been about a month without being able to update. I checked to make sure the app was updated but still can’t not sync anything, app is basically useless now.

All of my Sketchup design work is done on my laptop. The original iPhone app was perfect to show my work to others. The fact that I had to publish every version of my work on 3D Warehouse was a pain and filled the service up with unfinished junk. Trimble’s Connect resolves both issues. I ONLY ONE ISSUE LEFT: Perhaps this was developed with the new Sketchup for iPad in mind. Unfortunately, on my iPhone Pro any dimensions I make are so small they’re unreadable. Zooming within the app does nothing so I have to use Apple’s 3 tap zoom that more often than not sends me somewhere else. Unless I’ve missed it, a simple “Text Size” setting would allow me to give this 5 stars.
IFC Models won’t zoom on IPad version

Until about 2 weeks ago, ifc models would zoom in using the IPad version of the app. Now this no longer works unless using orthographic mode. I’ve tested this on 3 different current generation IPads and they all do the same thing. Interestingly, the model will zoom on the IPhone version. Really need this to be fixed so our field crews can view connections. Thanks!

There’s an issue with the app not being able to upload photos from the ‘photos’ app on the iOS operating system. Whenever you try to upload from the photo gallery in the “To Do” section, the app crashes. All other form of attachments work, and you can also take photos. This started since Apple updated to have the choice to select what photos an app can use, but even if you allow the App to have full access (“All Photos” option in settings), the app still crashes. Otherwise this app is fantastic.
- 3D Measurement Tool (iOS): Fixed an issue where measurement values were missing on non-English devices. Distance labels now display correctly across all supported languages.
- Cleaner Views List: Removed clutter from internal BCF Topic views. Your Views gallery now shows only user-defined project views for smoother navigation.
- Reliable Object Coloring: Fixed a 3D viewer bug where selecting a color from the palette didn't apply to selected objects (such as grid lines). Colors now update instantly.
- Shared ToDo Attachments: Fixed a mobile visibility issue—photo attachments on ToDos are now visible to all project members, seamlessly matching Trimble Connect for Web.
