Conversion is done on a secure cloud server, which makes conversion easier, faster and much more battery-friendly. You must have an internet connection to use this app. Files are immediately deleted from the server after conversion. While the files are immediately deleted after conversion or cancellation, you should be aware that by using this app, you agree that your files will be sent over to internet from the app to the conversion server.
We've also recently added support for local conversions for many popular conversion types. These conversions don't require a server, and are usually done almost instantly! We are continuing to add support for more local conversions with each update.

I don't know how I'd be able to do what I've needed without this converter. I recently have started producing my own music and am still learning everything audio. Some things don't play on this or can't be found on that. Mp3. Mp Doppler Googleplex 6000 - I don't know, but I think paying a little extra for the amount of work and stress this app (I don't remember the name) has already and will save me is tiotally worth it. Thanks, dooooods.
Amazingly stupid

Does nearly nothing, and does it poorly. Uploads your files, rather than process locally? Gee, nothing fishy there. But yeah, sometimes it also contradicts itself and says it's converting locally. The is the sort of laughable do-nothing fluff that Mac apps have become: you can't process a list of files, and you can't even set defaults for the conversion process, such as format or output location. You'll need to specify that for every freaking file, over, and over, and over, and ... Did you want control over your mp3 encoding? Tough cookies - nada. Super nonstandard/nonconformant UI (just menus, or a great lack thereof, and a big stupid window, that manages to include the most UI-guidlines-violating output format "menu" ever). And yeah, don't forget to save your output file, because not only is it too stupid to do that for you, but it won't let you know you forgot, if you get lost in the mindless tedium it imposes on you and open another file before saving the one that just got converted. It won't actually do any conversion until you've paid for the app. But hey, at least there's a giant stupid checkmark in your face to compensate for the total lack of functionality. $20 for this p.o.s.?!? Wow, what a ripoff. Only positives: it does seem to convert files, and covers most of the obvious formats.
Uploads all of your files

I intended to use this app to quickly and easily extract audio from video files for a project I'm working on. The first file I tried was about 500 GB, so I dropped it on the app and it says "uploading." I found that to be odd, so I returned here to the App Store to investigate the app further. In their defense, it says clearly that they upload your files and then convert them on a remote server. I cannot for the life of me understand why they would do this. All Macs, even older Macs, are more than capable of converting audio files quickly and easily. Uploading and then redownloading all of your files is a waste of time, data, bandwidth, and money considering this app charges a monthly fee, not to mention the privacy concerns. QuickTime and VLC can both do this for free and significantly faster. I downloaded this app for a quicker drag and drop solution of which it did not provide.
Does the job but...not locally?

This was just a one off need for me. I had some .wav files I needed in .ogg format and chose this app. Lifetime pro is free through a promo as of writing this, so not worried about pricing. It did the job perfectly, but notably, not locally. Your files get uploaded to a Google Cloud server. I don't know why they wouldn't just do everything on device, but if you're worried about privacy you may want to read into the Privacy Policy a little. I'm not for these certain files, so I'll keep using this.
