The app works great! Everything is relatively seamless and easy. The only gripe I have with this app it’s its UI. It is very clunky and kind of thrown together. If this app gets a facelift, it could really be a great app. The menus could use a nice animation to make them pop, since liquid glass exists now, the Monumental Sports logo is off center on the main screen, when signing in with a TV provider, the logo is huge in the top center. Just a few ideas on how to make the app better, great work guys!

Terrible experience. I don’t even like Washington sports, but I can’t watch the teams I support without a monumental+ subscription. I paid 20 dollars to watch tonight’s game, which isn’t even happening in the DMV. The emails to confirm my account came so slowly and never worked, so I couldn’t log in on my TV. AirPlay wouldn’t work either. I missed most of the first period trying to get it to work, and the only option is the DMV coverage when I really want the commentators for the other team. The TV app also has a horrible interface—tons of missing text, so it’s hard to figure out account stuff. It’s been less than an hour since I subscribed and I’ve already cancelled. I think I would feel less regret about walking into traffic.

The worst streaming app. You can’t watch games delayed. If you pause, fast forward, then resume play, it will restart you back to the beginning of the program. It’s not Monumental’s fault entirely. You get the score of a game in progress as soon as you launch the app. ViewLift, the platform developer, sold an incomplete product to several teams in need of a regional sports network. If you’re watching live, it’s still a mess. They have so few advertisers and inventory that you’ll see the same ads repeatedly and in the same break. Save yourself the grief and spend a little more for a DirecTV Stream, Verizon FiOS, or Xfinity subscription this season. The tech support team is awesome and very responsive. They know it’s rough, but they’re not the product team.

Frustration at it’s finest

Only downloaded the app and made an account to watch the Caps play since NBCSW was bought out. I have only experienced frustration with using this app in the scant few preseason games I’ve watched. Not only is this app NOT compatible with my smartTV but casting from my phone to my TV is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Half the time I can’t even get it to rotate into landscape correctly so that I can press the cast icon. And then I have to activate the casting feature EVERY TIME. Which often causes it to be bumped out of the livestream and the process starts all over again. I’ve spent more time during the first period trying to make this dang app act as advertised than actually enjoying the game. Monumental needs to get it’s act together for the upcoming hockey season.
