I appreciated having this while on my travels abroad. It saved me from having to wait in a really long line and lose precious vacation time. I’m also thankful for the extra free kit that was sent with my order. My first test came out as an indeterminate (which caused a couple hours of stress). Then I did another one 2 hours later (again thankful for the extra box). My proctor, Nicole was AMAZING! I explained to her my indeterminate result and she sensed my concern. And she didn’t quality time with me, going through each step slowly…and she ensured I did everything correctly. My indeterminate result was because I didn’t go it right. I didn’t get a true sample. Nicole helped me to make sure it was done right. If this is your first at home kit, make sure your proctor knows so they can help you get an accurate result from the start!

Overall good but lacking customer service

Recently I traveled to Europe. Knowing that I would have to take a Covid test before returning to the United States, I purchased 2 Elume Covid tests. Setting up the app was easy. I scheduled time for my two tests within the 72 hour period prior to returning home. My first test time came, I connected with my proctor, went through the instructions, the video, did the test. Once the clock started ticking, the proctor departed the video chat, After the 15 minutes on my first test, the result failed. For some reason the test could not complete. I called customer service, Only to find out that customer service was not available on the weekends. I found this to be very stressful. Fortunately I did have the second test. But I was also needing to come up with a plan C and D if I had the same problem with the test number two. Thankfully, test number two worked out and I was negative for Covid! I would highly recommend, that a company that provides a service ostensibly used by customers anywhere in the world at any time of day, should have 24/7 customer service. Additionally, proctors should be required to be in a space that is quiet enough to hear their instructions clearly and not being observed by other people who are not part of the session. During my first test, there were several other people speaking loudly near my proctor, and they would walk back-and-forth behind him looking at the screen during our session. I found this very distracting and intrusive.

If you are traveling internationally and must receive a COVID test before returning to the states, you should use this service!! After researching the cost of getting one done in the Netherlands we started looking for other options, not only is this process quite a bit less expensive but also we were able to do this test at our own convenience. First, we got our kits in a quick 2 days, and had an extra kit (just in case we needed it). Then I was able to set up the appointment whenever we needed it to be done. The day of our actual scheduled appointment, was way easier than I expected. Our proctor, Randy B, communicated very clear and precise instructions, and was also very patient with our 2 young boys. We all got our results within the 15 minute timeframe with no issues, and easily downloaded them to our phones for check in at the Amsterdam Airport. The only thing I would suggest is to have both apps (AZOVA and CovidHome test) already downloaded onto multiple devices (iPad or iPhone). You only need one account but multiple devices. We ended up downloading the apps while we doing the test. It would have made it a bit quicker if we had already done this....

Received a false positive test which was confirmed at a clinic two days later

I hate to give this product a bad review since there is a four percent chance that the results are incorrect. However, it basically ruined the last three days of our family trip in Iceland as my result came back positive while the rest of my family’s came back negative. We had to rush back to the capital and keep me in isolation for two days. I knew that there was a very slim chance it could be inaccurate and I have been fully vaccinated since March and wore a mask the entire trip. However the mental stress it put on our trip was not worth it. Has we gone to the clinic instead they could have done another test or even a PCR test which would have confirmed it was a false positive. Instead the last two days of our trip was a disaster.Also despite excellent customer service during the observation, it took our family of four well over an hour as we had only two phones with the app on it and each one of us had to watch the video instructions. Our proctor Chandler was patient and kind. So the service was good yet the false positive was very upsetting. I almost cried when I went to the clinic and saw the negative result. I would have had to stay in Iceland for 14 days!
