I’m lucky enough to be blessed with great friends. But that doesn’t mean we all started our families at the same time. And right as you want to connect with people who’s kids are at similar developmental milestones as your child, you loose the time to think straight. A friend told me about this app and since then I’ve gone on a bunch of meet ups and made awesome friends (& same is true for my kids)! Concerns I’ve read on here about negative comparisons to Tinder are silly. MomieGo (really its ParentGo) is a great way to find parent friends on the fly, no judgement, no fuss... and for those of us who’s dating years ended pre-Tinder, now we don’t feel left out of the future!

This app is like Peanut, with fewer features and options. I think people need to be prompted to personalize their profiles more, because it’s really hard to tell if you’d like someone’s company from the available info - a tiny bio and a bunch of ore-canned tags. Also, the profile should be right under the photo, one shouldn’t have to click on “View Profile” to see bio - obviously we’re going to need to see bio and not just base our decision on a photo, lol. The app has some technical kinks to work out too - for example, each time i opened the app I was prompted to complete my profile and had to click “continue” 3 or 4 times, despite my profile having been filled out. The disclaimer when you install the app claims there’s three ways to get an account, including with an email, but in reality you can only register with a facebook or an apple id. No way to filter searches by child age or any other applicable data, and few users - as a result, I didn’t find anyone in my city I felt compelled to swipe right on.

What I love about this app is how genuine all the other moms are on here. I’ve been on and off the app since I found it in a mommy group and have tried other ones. I tried Peanuts and they’re always trying to upsell with this service, this thing, memberships…Here, I’m actually trying to connect with friends… God knows how hard that is.I know it’s a pretty new app but I’m hoping there could soon be a back-end algorithm built in that moms could also a swipe on services they’d recommend. I need to find a good chess teacher and don’t know where to look!

So great to meet people that are local with similar family structure.Was great to find married couples and other single moms as I was separating from my partner. Definitely fun for meeting local people in general but also fun as a past time. The other apps make it seem like all the world is singles living their best life…This makes those of us living our best-real life accessible. It’s been a relief.Single moms to help me cope and support and married couples who are fun and dynamic and willing to help set me up with potential romantic partners and networking opportunities lol
