WARNING CATALINA ISSUES

Great product but currently doesnt work with Catalina. Cant roll back at the moment, so will just await an update. Otherwise a great product.

From the other reviews, I do get the sense that this app worked very well previously, but on 26.1 (Tahoe) it doesn’t function properly more than half the time. The IP it shows in the menu bar does not update automatically much of the time and needs to be updated manually, which defeats the purpose of the app. If an update comes out to fix the core functioning of the app on the latest macOS, it would be a 5-star essential for DDNS config. As it is though, it is basically just a shortcut to be able to manually enter it each time your IP changes — which could be done with the DNS provider already.

Thank you for your feedback, it's one of those which really help improve the app. In order to better understand the problem can you tell us if the app is not triggering an update based on the update interval? Or it does trigger an update but the IP from the menu bar is unchanged?As soon as we identify the issue we will push a fix for it.
Wonderful 64-bit dynamic DNS updater app

I use Cisco's OpenDNS for my home network DNS Server, and have used the 32-bit OpenDNS Updater client for macOS provided by Cisco up through macOS Mojave. I've decided that waiting for a 64-bit update to the OpenDNS Updater was not satisfying. It seems that to update the app from 32-bit should not be impossible work, it ought to be rather trivial. I'm not cognizant of the software packages that the current client was based on, so it could be a matter of a complete rewrite, and therefore, not a cost-effective project for the Cisco programmers.I did some searching and found the 64-bit app RealDNS by MingleBit on the Mac App Store. It is a simple to use solution for updating dynamic DNS addresses on a Mac computer that will work with the new Catalina release, which requires a 64-bit updater application.I believe that this application is well worth the price, and the author has been responsive in supporting the users of this software. I give it my top recommendation.

What a relief after wasting time trying to use Cisco’s lates version of their Umbrella Updater app. Their native application will not work on any M series mac running OS 15. Don’t even try. Pay the minor $3 cost for this wonderful little app that does all you need to monitor Open DNS. I even setup my other computer with it without ever having to go to the Pen DNS website. It just adds every computer the app is on.
