Radio Indígena was brought to life by over 200 indigenous migrants, many of them strawberry farmworkers, who helped set up the station from the ground up. After securing an FCC Low Power FM permit in 2014, launching online streaming in 2015, and going live on FM airwaves in 2017, Radio Indígena has grown into an indispensable tool for amplifying the collective voice of the indigenous migrant farmworker community.
