It’s a shame it’s had to come to this point, I’ve been using uphold for over a year now and mostly have had positive experiences. There has been some good and some bad. Lately it’s been bad, I contacted customer support in regards of having complications purchasing Luna when it became fractions of a penny. They swiftly replied and made it seem as if they were actually trying to resolve the issue, I then get moved to an email ticket, under the impression they were trying to quickly resolve my issues. I was told via email that someone was going to contact me about my issues shortly and after waiting a few hours I attempted to email again asking for an update on what’s going on, another few hours go by and still nothing, I email again, at this points it’s been well over twelve hours and I’m still being left in the dark with this. It seems as if they are trying to prevent people from buying at all time lows. Not only is this issue currently going on but this app has been known for being hacked and many people losing lots of money so don’t even think about keeping your money on this exchange. It’s really unfortunate that I will need to take my business else where. This exchange is cool if you need to get xrp since they didn’t delist it but I would never recommend using this exchange for anything else, which is sad because at one point I viewed them as a very solid exchange.

Uphold really stands out from everyone else

I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews about uphold. I am personally using uphold for more than 2 years and never had any major issues with anything. Yes there are some minor glitches here and there but, guys, I haven’t seen a single bug free system. Not even in the products of those trillion dollar companies. I am a rigorous user of uphold and kind of made quite an exhaustive use of their platform since I am a long time user. I must say, one thing they have is really unique which is bringing such a modularities in the use of currencies. You can literally convert between any pair of currencies and if you have their debit card, you can also spend them. That means for example, if you want to buy a gift for you friend living in let say, Switzerland and you have some bitcoin in your account, you can just convert them in Swiss Frank right away and use their debit card to make the purchase without paying international transaction fees or restrictions. This is really a true democratization of currencies. I am pretty sure the uphold team is already addressing the issues and complaints the customers have. But, one thing I must say that if you use all the features of the platform instead of using uphold just as another crypto exchange, you will definitely find it unique.

Ugg, i was typing this and it disappeared so i have to retype, if a duplicate is there somewhere I’m sorry .. i have used uphold for 2-3 years and over time they have repeatedly locked the account causing many delays at critical moments and it took days to get it sorted out and i had to repeatedly reverify my “identity” even though i used every security measure possible, they say it is for MY safety or some nonsense. Well now finally they have just told me, after a week of back and forth trying to fix my debit deposits not working, that i can “indefinitely” not move crypto ANYWHERE, all i can do is deposit, trade on uphold, and move BACK to bank. so no moving to hardware wallet, keeping everything locked in their account subject to their OUTRAGEOUS fees for everything. People say “not your keys, not your crypto” and so this is NOT my crypto and is subject to them getting hacked or collapsing. LUCKILY i had already began not to trust them so moved everything off over time! Do NOT trust centralized exchanges ever, if you HAVE to use them, get everything off of them the SECOND you are finished. mark these words: it will come out they Uphold, has NOT upheld the law when it comes to shady back end dealings.I thank God though!, this is FORCING me to learn more about defi

Now another issue with this platform constant verification I haven’t reported any issues with my account and now when I log in I get a message stating “To keep an accurate snapshot of you as customer please provide a selfie”. Mind you I’ve had this account for years haven’t reported any issues recently so why am I having to take a selfie to verify my account? It seems way too intrusive. Asking what I do for my job? Whose my employer? How much I make and how much I plan to deposit in my accounts and now they need constant photo verification just from me logging in is seeming extra and weird. I only buy XDC because currently it’s the only place I can buy and keep it stored but I’m done depositing anymore money into this scam app especially after all the negative reviews I’ve been reading. Hopefully ledger live supports xdc soon so I can remove the rest of my coins and be done with this weird privacy invading scam app. Also they charge way more to buy crypto than on other apps. Don’t sign up look elsewhere. Used to be a great app but has become increasingly worse over the past couple of years almost like they want people to leave it’s frustrating.
