Stoppage is the time out app for any parent, daycare provider, or teacher. Stoppage is an app designed to administer Time Out’s to children in a calm productive way to get children to contemplate their choices. Stoppage includes an optional warning signal button that plays a warning sound to let children know they need to have a sit down. It also plays a completion buzzer when time is up. Stoppage has time buttons for intervals of five minutes, one minute, and thirty seconds. If you set the wrong time or need to change the time no worries just tap reset.
As a single-parent I developed the Stoppage app to administer discipline in effective way that got my children to contemplate their choices. I have found it to be very successful and useful.
Some of the most useful features of the app:
Time interval buttons. the time interval buttons are great because you can set what ever time you feel is appropriate. If a child continues to misbehave once you have started the time out you can just add more time. I use this a lot with my children and it’s extremely effective!
Start, Pause, and Reset buttons. It may seem simple but these buttons can be used very effectively. For instance, if you need to wait for child to settle down before starting the time out or need to pause it during the time out it’s real simple to do. I have also found the reset button useful if you need to change the time that was set.
Countdown Timer. It’s amazing the effect on child being able to see numbers counting down and they can know how much time they have left. Especially when you display milliseconds which makes them think the time out is going faster than it really is!
I have found other very useful ways to use the app. Think of anything that you would want to time your children doing for instance picking up toys, doing home work, or a set time they get to do something. The single best aspect is that you can take it with you anywhere. So if your outside playing, tubing down a hill, at the beach, or at the park just pull out your iPhone or iPad.
So if you have a child behaving badly just put a Stoppage to it!
