I have the Premium plan and I downloaded this app on my iPad and phone to use it whenever I don’t have access to my laptop or just want to change settings. I’m very disappointed with how buggy and poorly-functioning this app is, and it seems like I’m not the only one. Recently, I tried doing some practice question sets on the app and gave up out of frustration. After every single question, the app would freeze and the buttons to move to the next question would not work. The timer was still running and it was auto-saving, but it was impossible to pause, go to another question, or use any of the other buttons on the right-hand bar. The screen seemed frozen. I had to swipe up to quit the app entirely, open it up again, and re-launch the learning question set to be able to move to the next questions. And this happened after every single question starting after the second one! BARBRI, please update your app to fix these bugs!! 🙏🏼

This review is post-May 25th update. I was hopeful that the update would fix the major issues with this app, but only minor luck.Good news first: I can now download lectures. It now seems to remember where I left off, even if I left off on my laptop. Bad news: it still won’t let me change the playback speed! I prefer to listen to the lectures in 1.5x speed- this saves a lot of time and helps me stay engaged. This function doesn’t work on the app at all. The menu pops up that lists it as an option to change, but the button for it isn’t clickable. Somehow this lack of functionality also extends to the desktop site on the ipad versions of Chrome and Safari (not directly related to the app, but I tried this as a workaround and was disappointed when it didn’t work).

I’m happy that barbri “overhauled” it’s app, but I really need the video player to work better. Right now, you can download audio and video, but the video DOES NOT rotate into landscape even in full screen. So, with all the other buttons at the bottom of the video player in portrait view, the sliding bar for moving through the video is way too small and you skip 20 mins just by moving it slightly. That is if you can move it at all. Every time I try to slide it, my phone thinks I’m switching apps....I like to watch the video lectures just to keep myself familiar with content I’ve already watched. So my biggest feedback to improve the accessibility for listening to videos and content when we can’t be at our computers. (Also, I have not tried the quizzes or anything, so this feedback is limited to the lectures.)

This is the first time I’ve written a review on an app, but studying with the new Barbri app drove me here. I used Barbri when studying for the Florida bar in 2020, and the program itself is exceptional. I had never used the app before, so when I decided to get licensed in another state I stuck with Barbri and this time downloaded the app. Brief list of the issues so far:1. Does not save where you left off. This is really frustrating as this was not an issue prior to the app. 2. NO FAST FORWARD OPTION. Everyone knows speeding up the lecture saves a lot of time. 3. Any time I briefly close the app it jumps to a different point of the lecture and I have to find where I left off.The app isn’t horrible, but all of the changes made so far to the study plan have made it even more difficult than it was just one summer ago.
