The Smartfire App includes:
- Status screen provides a 'single look' status of the pit and food probes
- Setup Your Pit screen enables you to dial in your desired target pit temperature, along with high and low threshold alarms and a fan override switch.
- Setup Probe screen enables you to choose your target temperatures, alarms and nick names associated with a probe. You select the meat type associated with the probe, ie 'Pork' then either swipe or tap the left/right arrows to change the selection. The options available are Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish and Custom. For each primary meat type, there are multiple meat and doneness combinations, ie 'Steak (medium rare) - 130F' within Beef.
- Settings screen to customise your pit type, temperature scale, whether alarm sounds are on and the desired alarm sound effect.
- Setup screen to pair your phone and Smartfire Controller and provide your WiFi credentials for the Controller to use
Would be nice to have option of 24hr time selections. While still a very useful app, I would also like to see an Apple Watch app added. The ability to manipulate controller settings of the cook from the watch would be nice. At a minimum, the ability to see temps from watch is needed.

As a newbie when it comes to smoking meat, it has been very helpful having the Smartfire controller on the smoker. After some initial struggles to get it to connect to wifi, I got the app updated and it has worked like a dream ever since and has made smoking meat the easiest thing ever. Totally worth the money.

Love this app/product! I’m always impressed at how flat it can keep the temps on my Kamado, even in the winter when snowing! Love that I can use the WiFi and go anywhere in my house and not worry about it disconnecting, and I can use the wireless probes! The app just had a UI update which took me a minute to figure out , but it looks great and is pretty intuitive after playing around a bit.

Zero success on this thing so far. Connected initially. Disconnected mid-smoke even with Bluetooth in near proximity. Had to reinstall the app and login again. Disconnected again and can’t login anymore. Just hangs. So many expectations for this thing and complete failure. Quality must have gone in the tank reading all these reviews and also online grilling groups.
Developer Response
The most common issue with the previous "V4 BT+WiFi" generation of Smartfire controllers was the user's wifi router setting for channel width/bandwidth. Set it to 20mhz to avoid the random drop outs that match the symptoms you describe.
