First thing I noticed --- when I copy/pasted text from Pages into this teleprompter - various formatting info (such as unterlines and italics) remained in-tact --- which makes it much easier to remember which words need emphasis when I read.Then, I saw the iPhone app used for remote-controlling this teleprompter -- and it was refreshing to see that the app was designed by someone who is well aware that my eyes, while recording, need to be on my desktop screen, not my phone screen!!! The buttons were large enough and well enough placed that I could operate the remote control without having to look at it!!!This teleprompter might be more expensive than the others - but worth every penny!!!!!!!!
Very easy to use and useful prompter

My professional prompting software tanked after an OS upgrade on my MacBook Air, so purchased this app. Small file, downloaded and opened quickly and easily. Was very basic and simple (does about 96% of what I need any prompting software to do), but was intuitive to learn and performed reliably and perfectly for the untrained talent. The price was a BARGAIN for how easy and simple it is to use, and for how much comfort and ease it brought to inexperienced talent. Could have some minor tweaks to the interface, but overall a terrific app.
Best prompter software out there

I've tried eight different products, including some that were much more expensive. This is the best. It has all the configuration options I need without being excessive. I love that I can set the margins very precisely on my prompter. The scrolling speed is very finely and easily adjusted. I control my own prompter while recording videos I sell for my business and ease of use is critical. At one point I had problems with external controllers working reliably but support at SubOrbital was great and helped me out very quickly.

Mike, what you probably encountered is the little quirk that "plain" keyboard shortcuts don't work in the editor. Meaning that when you assign the key "P" to play/pause the key will work perfectly fine in the teleprompter window. But in the editor window it won't work. That's because the editor can't know your intention when you press "P". Do you want to toggle playback or do you want the letter "p" to appear in your script? The editor assumes you want to insert the letter "p" into your script and ignores the play/pause binding.You can make it work though: Simply add a modifier key (like CTRL, Option or CMD) to your key binding. So if you bind "CTRL+P" to play/pause the shortcut will work in every window because CTRL+P does not result in a printable character - so the editor knows your intention.Also you're right about not being able to re-assign the SPACE key. This key currently is reserved for the default play/pause action. We will make this key re-assignable in a future update but for now you can't re-assign SPACE (and BACKSPACE).Generally what we found to be most useful when using Power Prompter with specialized input hardware (like your StreamDeck) is to assign the shortcuts "CTRL+1" through "CTRL+7" in Power Prompter and then assign those key combos to your hardware buttons via your hardware's control software. So assign play/pause to CTRL+1 and then configure your SteamDeck's play key to emit "CTRL+1".(Using CTRL+[NUMBER] to trigger actions in Power Prompter has the advantage that those key combinations are not used by default by macOS and that they work in the editor).If you need further help setting this up please contact us via email: support@suborbital.ioTo anyone who's wondering if they should buy Power Prompter and if it works with their hardware: Please download our free trial version "Power Prompter Express" from the App Store and test it out. Really REally need to be able to close the editing window without closing the scroll view. I use the app for play along music and really need the screen space. Also please eliminate the [save ]before evrey close and maybe provide an option to auto save. those 2 things are critical when seconds count for performance. ONe more. Copy and paste always defaults to base color of white. If I copy a section with multiple colors assigned , copy/paste should keep those settings.

You're right - closing the editor automatically closes the teleprompter windows. But you can always use the yellow "minimize" button in the toolbar to hide the editor window. This will keep the teleprompter windows visible.Thanks about mentioning the [save] dialog. We're going to fix this with the next update. We will also add an option to keep colors during copy/paste.
