Videos start faster, and uploads are far harder to knock off course. Faster video previews • Cinema and flic previews now start playing almost straight away, instead of waiting for the whole file to download • Once a video has loaded, it's kept on your device, so opening it again doesn't download it a second time More dependable uploads • One slow or stalled shot no longer cancels the rest of your project's uploads • Uploads recover on their own if your sign-i expires partway through, including after the app restarts • When retrying several shots on a weak connection, we'll tell you up front and suggest Wi-Fi instead of letting them fail one by one • Your screen stays awake while uploads are running, and if you step away mid-upload we'll remind you to keep Cinefly open • Clear messages instead of rare crashes when your device is out of storage, or when a shot's video is no longer on your device and needs re-recording Gallery • Your gallery is now ordered by when photos and videos were taken, so editing or favouriting an older item no longer bumps it to the top Plus general performance and stability improvements throughout the app.

What's New in 2.8.1 This release is about quiet reliability. We've tracked down a handful of rare edge cases that could occasionally trip the app up, and made signing in and out more dependable. Sign-in & sign-out • Rapid repeat taps on social sign-in no longer leave a loading overlay stuck • In the rare case a sign-out hangs, it can no longer block your next sign-in • Fixed a rare case where a successful email sign-in could leave you on the loading screen • Cleaner email sign-in — the redundant in-button spinner is gone Stability • Guarded against occasional crashes when browsing project shot lists and video details • Downloads, playback and image picking now handle missing or unusual data gracefully • Switching accounts reliably refreshes My Storyboards Ripple • Ripple status stays accurate when viewing shared videos and searching Plus general performance and stability improvements throughout the app. Thank you for your reports and feedback — they helped us find these corners.

Introducing Ripple: see how far your Flics travel. Share a Flic as a Ripple and watch it spread. Anyone who opens your link can join and republish it to their own audience, and you can follow the whole chain as it grows. • Create a Ripple from any Flic and share it as a link or QR code • Watch your Ripple spread across an interactive globe, then drill into any region to see the Flics behind it • Follow a Flic's lineage to see exactly who shared it onward • Join a Ripple you've been sent, and republish it to keep it moving • Open shared Ripple links straight from Messages, or scan a Ripple QR code with the in-app scanner Plus performance and stability improvements across the app.

This update makes creating your work smoother and more reliable: - More dependable uploads, with one-tap retry for failed shots (no need to re-record) - Start a project directly from a storyboard - More reliable video recording - A smoother, faster sign-in - Many stability, performance, and editing fixes throughout the app Thank you for using Cinefly, and keep the feedback coming!

Uploads that keep going: Your shots now auto-resume if your connection drops or you close the app mid-upload, so nothing gets lost. We also added one-tap retry directly on the storyboard tile, and stranded shots automatically retry when you tap Create Video instead of forcing you to re-record. Smarter error handling: Submission errors are now categorised so you know when to retry and when something genuinely needs your attention. If a network timeout happens while submitting, we check the server before resetting, so you won't accidentally create duplicate projects. Smoother all round: Network-aware upload pacing, faster recovery from cloud upload edge cases, and a friendly page when you tap a broken link. Thanks for using Cinefly.
