Keep your words in view while you record. Selvi puts a scrolling script over the camera preview on your iPhone or iPad, so you can focus on delivering your message instead of remembering every line.
Prepare a video introduction, lesson, product walkthrough or personal message. Write your script, adjust the reading window and rehearse before you press Record.
• Keep your scripts together. Create a title and text for each script, edit it when your ideas change, and search your library by title or content.
• Set up a comfortable reading window. Drag it closer to the lens, resize its width and height, and adjust text size and background opacity to suit your shot.
• Choose how the text moves. Set your own scrolling speed, or use optional voice following to advance through your script as you speak. Voice following highlights your place and waits during pauses. Choose the script language yourself or let Selvi detect it from the text.
• Rehearse and stay in control. Practice without recording, pause or resume the text, return to the beginning, or scroll by hand to another passage. Pausing the text does not stop your video recording.
• Record with either camera. Choose the front or rear camera before filming, in portrait or landscape. Your finished video contains camera footage and microphone audio; the reading window and controls stay out of the recording.
• Keep track of your takes. My videos shows new recordings with their script title and date. The title stays with the video even if you later rename or delete the script. Watch your recordings in Selvi, save a copy to Photos, share a video file, or delete takes you no longer need.
Voice following processes speech on your device. First use may require an internet connection to download a speech model and additional storage for setup. Once the model is prepared, recognition works offline. Accuracy and responsiveness vary with language, device, accent and background noise. Timed scrolling remains available.
Scripts and recordings are stored locally in Selvi. The script library, timed scrolling and video recording work without an internet connection. No account is required. Save or share videos you want to keep before deleting the app.
Available for iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Interface available in English and Ukrainian.
Thank you for the job. I have to put only one star in my review due to the speed of the app. Even with 0% it's too fast and one have to run to finish the paragraph! I am using A tablet and I would prefer to have the area narrower. In any case, you have a nice app, simple, minimalist, but how can I get my money back understanding with is doesn't work? With that speed nobody could save a video. I don't speak slowly, but you could measure yourself. In conclusion, even in 0% speed it runs too fast and I wasn't able to record my stuff. One point for you is that if you fix these details, the app has a lot of potencial.

Great idea...poorly executed. I’ve wasted so much time with this app it’s maddening. If I’m in a perfectly lit studio, somehow this tool screws up the lighting...EVERY single reshoot. NEVER CONSISTENT! Don’t try to pause or scroll back down through your script while shooting, font sizing will change bc the app isn’t smart enough to know that your finger IS in the text box, not on the side, trying to resize the text. Result: the text size changes and you lose your place. Never actually saves your videos to the “gallery”, but stores them in the phone’s photos app...so you do 3-4 retakes, then discover all of them are in a separate folder in photos.

This app looked amazing at first but it turns out to be so frustrating. First off you can’t control the speed of the scrolling. It scrolls so fast it’s impossible to read. There is no adjustment to slow the speech. There is also no way to go back and edit your speech after you finish typing it out. You can’t make any edits at all or add onto a written speech. It was a waist of my day.
Works but has serious design flaws

So, I am shooting a video with my iPhone in landscape mode on a tripod. Then I realize the text is moving too quickly. I hit stop and the interface goes back to portrait mode with the video ready for playback. I have to pull the iPhone off the tripod, cancel out of the video playback screen, turn the iPhone sideways (to get the app to go back into landscape mode) and then set up my shot all over again. This is INSANELY IMPRACTICAL!! I need to make changes without having to reframe my shot EVERY TIME.
