I’ve had terrible experiences with Muslim marriage apps before; I’ve found that they're basically just used like tinder and anyone who’s serious about their faith ends up struggling to find a decent match. Especially as a female convert to Islam, there are a LOT of creeps on the internet that I have to look out for. This app/service is different in that it’s not based purely on photos—I like that you actually have to specifically request to see someone’s photos. I also like how monitored it is, because it makes you more mindful of what you’re saying to non-mehram in the privacy of the online world. It is very intentionally made and the people (at least the men), on the app are much more serious about marriage, still with a good variety of ages though. The interface is confusing and a bit outdated, hence the 4 stars…I would give it 4.5 stars if I could though. Overall, this is the app for you if you’re a practicing Muslim looking for a spouse (not a haram relationship). May Allah make it easy for us all, ameen!

Asalamulaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakathu,First off let’s start with the good:Pros1) Less fitnah: All photos are blurred by default and can only be seen when both parties agree. As long as the girl is covering herself properly there are no problems here. 2) Both the website and app work well. Everything is clearly laid out.Cons1) Hardly any American girls: If you are a brother in the US looking for a girl locally you won’t find many girls here. There are there yes but there are not nearly as many of them as there are girls from the UK. This is a major drawback for me. I think the only solution is for the Pure Matrimony team to advertise with major Masajid and well known organizations in the US to drive the membership numbers up. 2) It takes a long time to load the page that shows girls who recently visited your profile. This is the case on both the website and the app. I am not sure why that information in particular takes so long to load. I have rated the app four stars even though it’s not much use to me as a man living in the US. That’s because the concept of the app is much needed in a world of Haram apps like Salams/Minder and Muzmatch.

So far I like the app. It looks like only people who are serious signs up. The questions they suggest people can answer and personality tests , and adding Walli are really great features. My only issue is that you have to upgrade to premium in order to have the “messages” enabled. I personally think that’s wack. You should have to be a premium member to access that. I’d suggest even if the developers want to keep it the way, maybe have a limited access to messaging and when that number is reached then , the person can upgrade to premium.
