I've used this app on other platforms for months and it does everything I need it to with a modern UI and nice premium features that don't take away from the core functions. Setup is very in depth and simple to understand. I was so happy to find this app after digging through old VLC remote apps I had paid for that broke or free versions of others that stopped being updated and didn't work anymore or had a horribly ugly UI. This is THE app for controlling VLC from an iOS device. Note: if the app crashes after installing and trying to setup the first time just reboot your phone. I had a small issue with that at the very beginning but i rebooted and the app worked perfectly.

I bought the ad free version of this only and it worked great for a few months. It then got updated and had ads. I was extremely upset about it and contacted the developer. They quickly responded by saying to reinstall the app and then go to the “purchase page” in the app and select “restore” and it worked. No more ads! I’m very happy now as this was my favorite VLC remote. Thank you!!

I had this app, and bought the premium features, and it was a decent, perfectly serviceable app. Then the developer added incredibly intrusive advertising in an update, with an additional in-app purchase required to disable them. Seriously, just imagine: it's a remote control, and periodically you will completely lose its functionality because it gets hijacked by a full-screen ad that has sound on by default. Is there ever a situation in which you'd be using a remote control app and suddenly having a loud, stupid ad play *wouldn't* be hella annoying? And does anyone really think it's okay to completely break an app for paying customers with this sort of nonsense?Yeah, I guess I could pay the additional $2 to get rid of ads, but you know what? I'd rather give that money to a developer who hadn't already proven themself to be a swindler. Hobbyist Software has one that looks good.

In a campaign we gave away premium features for free to thousands of users, to monetise those users we added ads, before that very few people had bought the app, so we offered promo-code for them to remove ads. This app works great when I can get it working properly. I have a desktop and a laptop both running windows 11. For some reason, if both computers are online, this app will only see the desktop server. Even if I manually change all the port numbers and make entirely unique settings, the app will erase everything I input and it will just make two instances of the desktop computer. It will change all of the inputs to the desktop as well. I can only get my laptop to work if I shut down the desktop server. As soon as I turn the desktop back on, the issue returns.
