-You can now view file metadata such as image dimensions, color space, alpha channel, etc. in File Cabinet Pro's redesigned Preview pane. -The newly redesigned Preview pane is customizable, allowing you to choose what metadata you want displayed for particular file types. To customize the Preview panel, right click on the background area in the Preview pane and choose "Show Preview Options" in the right click menu. -Drag and drop to reorder metadata entries in the "Show Preview Options" popover. -Unlike the old Preview pane which could only be viewed while in Column view, the new Preview pane can be viewed from all view types. To show or hide the Preview pane you have the following options: -Use the Command+Shift+P keyboard shortcut. -Add the "Preview" toolbar item to File Cabinet Pro's toolbar. This update also includes additional performance improvements and bug fixes.

-Set your custom folder color in File Cabinet Pro Settings. To avoid ongoing issues with the Quick Look framework, FCP now independently tints folders. -Major performance improvements when viewing folders on external volumes. -When multiple files fail to be moved or copied with the same type of error (e.g., file already exists) a single alert is presented to you that clearly displays the filenames of all the affected files. -Moved column view width settings to its own dedicated tab in the settings window. -Minor bug fixes.

Known Issues on macOS 26.4 (please be kind): -There is a new bug in macOS Quick Look that is causing File Cabinet Pro to display folder colors that don't match your System Settings. If the next macOS update does not fix this issue, we will implement a workaround to restore folder colors in a File Cabinet Pro. macOS 26.0-26.3 are not affected.

-The Favorites sidebar has been moved into the main window and placed on Liquid Glass (Liquid Glass requires macOS 26.0 or later). -The Favorites sidebar now displays larger and better looking icon images on macOS 11.0 or later. -Fans of the retro style sidebar can set the new “Sidebar Style” preference to “Classic” in app settings. -File Cabinet Pro can now automatically resize columns in Column view to fit filenames. To enable this feature turn on the “Resize columns to fit filenames” checkbox in app settings. -You can now enlarge the size of images in Icon view using the Command+ keyboard shortcut. -You can now shrink the size of images in Icon view using the Command- keyboard shortcut. -You can now add a 'Verify Checksum' button to the toolbar. -When a folder in the Favorites list requires a volume to be mounted, File Cabinet Pro now displays a warning icon to indicate the folder's unreachable state. Previously File Cabinet Pro would automatically remove the entry from your Favorites list which was undesirable because the volume may only be temporarily unavailable. -When clicking on a folder in your Favorites list that is on an unmounted external volume File Cabinet Pro now shows an alert which may give you the option to remount the volume (when possible). -When clicking on a folder in your Favorites list that is on a volume that is local but not currently mounted (e.g., a disk image) File Cabinet Pro will auto mount the volume (when possible).

-Added a "Sort Groups by" submenu when the "Use Groups" option is turned on. Use this submenu to apply an additional sort policy to grouped sections. -'Sort by Name' now supports section grouping (files are grouped by the first character in the filename). -Improved the user interface in the settings window. -Workaround fix for a newly discovered bug in macOS 26 that could cause File Cabinet Pro's window to suddenly disappear when interacting with the batch rename sheet. -Fixed a bug that could cause files to be sorted in an unexpected order when creating a new directory in Column view and then adding files to that newly created directory.

-You can now collapse and expand sections in Icon View. -Column View and List View shows Quicklook thumbnails for image file types. -The position of the Split View that divides Cover Flow and List View is now restored when navigating back to a directory. -The Split View that divides Cover Flow and List View resizes proportionally when you resize the window instead of always snapping to a 50-50 split. -More efficient loading of thumbnails and file metadata. -The "Show in Finder" toolbar button now opens the current directory in Finder when there is no selection. -A bunch of minor bug fixes and UI tweaks for macOS Tahoe 26.1.

-Workaround fix for a crash caused by a bug in the ImageKit framework, which File Cabinet Pro uses. -Fixed annoying jitter when resizing the window on macOS 26.0.

-You can now invoke the "View Extended Attributes" action from the toolbar. To do this simply add the 'xattr' button to your toolbar in the customization palette. -The icon image in the "Show in Finder" toolbar button is now a bit larger (macOS 26.0 and later). -Fixed a few minor bugs on macOS 26.0.

-In icon view if there is no selection you can select the first file by pressing the down arrow key. -You can now add a "Show in Finder" button to the toolbar. -Fixed issue that caused File Cabinet Pro's window to remain behind the active app window when clicking the menu bar icon. -Fixed bug in the Settings window on macOS Tahoe when the system is in Dark mode.

Fixed an issue that caused the Terminal icon to be inappropriately displayed in alias file icons. Since macOS Ventura the built in Quick Look framework provided by the operating system started creating flawed icons for alias files. The last update fixed the issue for alias files that resolve to regular files like images, text files, etc. This update fixes the issue for alias files that resolve to Mac applications. If an alias file still does not display a proper icon image after updating, File Cabinet Pro needs additional permissions to resolve the alias. Fixed an issue that caused the Terminal icon to be inappropriately displayed in alias file icons. Since macOS Ventura the builtin Quicklook framework provided by the operating system started creating these flawed icons for aliases. File Cabinet Pro now composites the icons for alias files itself, thus avoiding the alias icon bug. File Cabinet Pro needs to know the file type of the file an alias points to in order to composite the icon. Because of this, alias icons will only display properly if one of the following conditions are met: 1) The file type of the original file (the file that the alias points to) can be inferred by the filename extension (i.e. Filename.png alias). or 2) File Cabinet Pro has file permissions to resolve the alias file and can ask the original file to determine the file type.
