I first purchased mSecure with ver 4. That version was good but it had a few issues. Ver 5 was better but there were bugs that needed to be addressed that just never seemed to get fixed, including being a little challenging to get installed and all my data from ver 4 into ver 5 installed.I hope I'm not jumping the gun by rating this so quickly but, I just upgraded to ver 6. Let me be clear, that process, including installing on two different accounts across 2 iPhones and 2 Macs, was almost instantaneous. The entire process took no more than 3 minutes per device. It appears that 100% of the data transferred from ver 5 and it further appears that it all TRANSFERRED PERFECTLY!!!! I have spent many hours in years past, communicating with support, trying to work through buggy issues with ver 4 & 5 but, I stayed with mSecure because frankly, it was the best option available IMHO. Well, at this early stage, I have to report that ver 6 appears to be what I have always wanted all previous upgrades to be. If you are already a license holder and worried about upgrading, stop worrying. The process is easy, quick and appears to be flawless. If you are frustrated with the subscription concept...get over it. One of my biggest fears was that the developer would have to close up shop for lack of income. I will gladly pay them $1.25 a month, so I can know they have the income to maintain what in my opinion, is the best password management program there is. I use it MUCH MORE THAN FOR JUST PASSWORDS. Moving all my data to a different program would be a nightmare.Hats off to the mSecure developer and support team!!!

So I've been using mSecure all the way back to 3.5. Two years ago I upgraded to mSecure 5 on everyone of my devices. What I didn't know then, and found out today, is that they forced the mSecure 6 updade out, and now hold my information hostage, if I don't pay for there subscription. So, Wow!! This is were I am know. I have mSecure 6 whether or not I want it. You can't roll back. And the worst part is on every phone, iPad, and computer I have this unwanted update, there is a timer counter down a Trial Version I didn't even ask for. And in about 25 days, I will not have access to my valuable data, in a program that I legiamately paid for, and being forced to quickly as possible try to find an alternative. I can't even tell you how many years of data I have tied up in mSecure, and for them to treat a paying customer this way...I mean think of this, this way...even if I find a compatible software out there, I have to transfer all my logins, my personal data, software key codes, bank, credit card, and other finacial data. As I am writing this, this product was great in holding so much personal data that you may want to keep in one place, privatly, and securly. I just can't believe I have to write this, at the same time I can't believe this is really happening. And the worst part...I haven't even tried this new version out. I'm sure the software might be as good as 5 was, but all I see is this timer on all my devices counting down, reminding me that I will be lock out of my paid software, and decades of important saved data I like to keep.

Hi John, Sorry to hear you're having an issue. Unfortunately, the UI wasn't as clear as it could've been with respect to the update. All previous v5 paid users are grandfathered into a free Essentials account which includes all features (and more) of v5. You're not loosing anything even if you decide subscriptions aren't for you. The trial that you're seeing is for a new set of advanced features and we hope that you'll find enough value with these features that you'll choose to subscribe but that is completely optional. Once the trial is over, you'll become an Essentials account and, again, there is not added cost to you. I hope this clears up this issue and sorry that this wasn't as clear as it could've/should've been.

I have been searching for a password manager that (1) is designed to give me (the user) total control, (2) does not require a subscription, (3) allows me the option of turning off cloud backup of the password file, (4) does not charge additionaly for each device on which it is installed (phone, computer), (5) allows manual or automatic syncing between devices, and (6) allows "self-destruct" of contents if you are wary of a sketcy, prying offical at a border crossing. This password manager fits that bill exactly. Then, (7) I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they have prompt, caring, and thorough customer support. I would give it SEVEN STARS if I could. One feature they need to add is the ability for the user to rearrange the various fields in a particular record when in edit mode. Another feature would be the ability to duplicate a record so that it can become a new (mostly similar) one after a few edits.

Copy and Paste from Mobile App to Desktop has been broken for months

I used to love this app, but to be honest, the ability to copy and paste directly from the mobile app to a desktop client has been broken for quite a while. First and foremost - I know I am an edge case. Most folks are going to be happy to just open the desktop client to get passwords for other desktop apps, but my issue is that my master password is extremely long and nearly impossible to type in correctly the first time. My work around for that was to just use the mobile app, which has face ID, to open the app, copy the password, then go to the desktop machine and paste into the password field. This used to work, but broke a while back. The only way to do that copy paste now is to copy from the mobile app, paste into a mobile browser address bar, then copy again, and then paste into the desktop password field. TBH, there is no need for this app for browser apps as the browsers already all store the password for auto fill. The last part about the desktop app - I could use fingerprint ID, but the problem there is my PC sits closed behind my moniter as I don't have workspace to leave it open. Bottom line, I miss being able to just directly copy from the msecure mobile app to whatever desktop client I am opening. If that were to come back, I would have no reason to look at other password managing apps or a U2F key.
