New in 2.0: detection rebuilt on Apple Vision, Personal data only mode for emails, phones and card numbers, and a new Mac-native interface.
Hide faces and personal details in photos and screenshots before you share them. Drop your images in — Hider finds faces and text on its own, down to emails, phone numbers and card numbers, and covers them in the style you pick. Check the result, click any box to keep it visible, and export.
Everything happens on your Mac. Photos are never uploaded anywhere, the app works offline and needs no account.
FINDS WHAT TO HIDE
• Faces and text are found with Apple Vision — even small faces in a crowd and fine print
• Personal data only: hides just the emails, phone numbers, links, addresses, card numbers and IBANs and leaves the rest of the text readable
• Click a box to turn it off, drag to add your own — rectangle or oval
• Detection sensitivity for tricky shots, and Compare with Original — or just hold Space
CHOOSE HOW TO HIDE
• 7 styles: Pixelate, Gaussian Blur, Solid, Crystallize, Pointillize, Box Blur and Hexagonal
• Solid covers a region with an opaque fill — nothing left to unblur
• Adjustable strength — from a light blur to a coarse mosaic
BATCHES AND SCREENSHOTS
• Drop dozens of photos or a whole folder, or drag them straight from the Photos app
• Export All saves the whole set in one click and tells you what it skipped
• Paste a screenshot with ⌘V and copy the result back with ⌘C
• Open photos with Hider right from Finder
SAFE EXPORT
• Location (GPS) and camera info are removed from exported photos — on by default
• Saves in the original format — JPEG, PNG or HEIC — with its color profile; your originals are never overwritten
• JPEG quality control and optional scaling down of large photos
GREAT FOR
• Screenshots of chats, emails, receipts and documents before you share them
• Photos of kids, friends and passers-by for social media and blogs
• Street, event and real-estate photos that must respect privacy
• Scans of IDs, tickets and bank statements

Image size issues
NEdmondson
Every photo (jpeg) I export leaps in size 245% and there is no option to calibrate this. Why can’t the images remain the same size during export/save?
Developer Response
Thank you for taking the time to write. Sorry about the oversized exports / quality slider issues — a fix update is coming soon. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for reporting it.
NO way to undo your oeprations

ok so this can be done, but can we enable cmd z shortcut?
Developer Response
You can select the rectangle of the hidden area and delete it.
At export app blurs things I didn't choose
Corvi
Total failure - I imported a jpeg with all-text, turned off “Autodetect text” (which caused it to immediately select and blur random text), blurred a couple of words and exported. The exported version altered MANY other words in the image!I quit, relaunched, saw that the autodetect boxes were already off, tried again. And again after export I saw that the app selected random words to blur in addition to the *one* I blurred. Insane.Aside from being useless, it’s clunkily designed - you drag-and-drop to import but can’t drag-and-drop the altered image. I’ve been able to do that in SnapNDrag Pro for over 4 years….
Developer Response
This and several other bugs are fixed in the latest version of the application. Pleasant use!
Hider 2.0 is a complete rework for modern macOS. Magic Hider is now simply Hider.
• Face and text detection rebuilt on Apple Vision — finds more and misses less
