An Adventure of Our Own is an interactive storytelling app for children and parents or caregivers to read, play, imagine, and create together. Rather than simply following a story on a screen, partners make choices together and create a unique adventure as they go. Children can express their preferences, explore ideas, solve problems, and discover how another person thinks and feels. Along the way, children and their partners: • Create a different story each time • Make choices and decisions together • Practice collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving • Use imagination to develop their own shared story • Talk about preferences, ideas, and feelings • Read and play together through interactive activities Features include: • Interactive storytelling and shared decision-making • Thought-bubble prompts that encourage conversation • Colorful imagery, dramatic sounds, and movable objects • A photo opportunity for partners in costume • Activities designed to encourage back-and-forth parent-child play An Adventure of Our Own is part of Two Way Play, a series of interactive experiences designed to encourage meaningful play between children and parents or caregivers. Two Way Play was created by Kim Foehl, MD, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst experienced in working with children and parents. Learn more about Two Way Play at twowayplay.com.
