Shearwater Cloud links your mobile device to your Shearwater dive computer. It allows you to download and manage your dive logs, update your dive computer firmware, and use cloud storage.
Using Bluetooth LE technology, you can quickly and easily download your dive logs to Shearwater Cloud. Once your logs are downloaded, you can analyze your depth, decompression profile, temperature, and much more.
The defining feature of Shearwater Cloud is the ability to store your dives via the cloud. Cloud storage provides accessibility to your dives on any mobile device with an internet connection. In addition, dive logs can be recovered should the dive logs be lost on a local storage.
Shearwater Cloud is compatible with Tern, Peregrine, Teric, Perdix 2, Perdix AI, Perdix, NERD 2, Petrel 3, and Petrel 2.
Given how fabulous and well thought out the Teric is, this app is a shocking disappointment. Let me be clear, it syncs with the computer just fine, but there are so many little oversights in design. Most of Us do several dives in a single location, why do I have retype information that is repetitive from the last dive? It places all info in a combined graph, which is okay, but makes the scale of temperature almost flat in my dives. We should either be able to change the scale or isolate temperature to a single graph.
Well, it works for me

Lots of complaints about this app. For me, it does what I want reliably. More focused on the technical aspects of diving than say what marine species i saw but that’s a small thing. The synchronization with the desktop works well and functions like import and export there are pretty good although more focused on export than import so it can be hard to get dives in from previous apps. People complain about the UI but no worse and in some ways better than the UI for Dive Log for example or Subsurface, 2 of the other remaining dive log applications that haven’t died. I travel the world a fair amount diving and it works well enough tracking the gear i’m using so i can keep track of what weights to use. Not as full featured for gear management, shops, marine life, etc as other aps. Mostly it’s focused on the technical aspects of diving and how it relates to your dive computer.
Lazily Resting On Their Laurels

I can’t believe how primitive and poorly functioning this app is. Either Shearwater is simply resting on their laurels and so don’t care about making this app appear like it’s from the last quarter century, or are willingly being negligent in its design and functionality because they hate mobile apps. It doesn’t make sense. I am a hobby coder and could (and have!) designed a better UI than what they are offering. Not only that, I get errors and bugs literally every time I open it. It’s preposterous. I know Shearwater is a small company, but literally ONE decent app dev could build something 19x better. Heck, poach someone from the Garmin app team, there’s probably 50 of them over there! Shearwater….GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND STOP BEING LAZY! GARMIN HAS FINALLY CAUGHT UP, AND NIPPING AT YOUR HEELS. THE MARKET/DIVERS ARE FINALLY TAKING NOTE OF THIS. IF YOU CONTINUE TO STAGNATE, YOU WILL BE AMAZED HOW FAST YOUR PREVIOUSLY “LOYAL” CUSTOMERS WILL ABANDON YOU. I love my Perdix 2, so I don’t want that to happen. But us customers only have so much grace to give, especially when it seems that our patronage is being taken for granted.
I expected better

The best I can say about this app is the basic functionality mostly works. There’s currently an issue with the dive numbers displaying incorrectly. I see that as minor inconvenience, but it’s a little annoying how long it’s gone unaddressed. The app doesn’t look or feel like a native iOS app. Gestures that you’d expect to work - such as swiping to go back - don’t work. Scrolling is halting and jittery. Clunky dropdown boxes are used in place of native pickers. Most UI elements are unusually large. It’s a poor user experience. Shearwater makes a great dive computer so I had high expectations for this app. Unfortunately it doesn’t come anywhere close to meeting them. If it were any other company I would have deleted it immediately. I’m holding out hope Shearwater can get it together.
