My favourite non-work calendar app

I could write a book about how much I hate the calendar apps from the makers of Windows and from Google, but thankfully the Mac now has menubar calendar app that not only shows me when something is going to occur, but tells me what it is.This tiny menubar widget expands on clicking so I can see the date and day, and days with events are marked with a dot. Below that is the title of the next few events, and when they are going to occur. The app uses the colour-coding of Calendar so you can assign categories to events, and of course it is 100 percent compatible with Calendar.

Knowing that the menu bar view, event dots, upcoming event list, and iCal color coding help you stay organised exactly as you need is incredibly rewarding. Lightweight, unintrusive UI with what I need of a menubar calendar app that includes minimumly required functionality without the need to open the full system's Calendar app.Would be nice to have add an option to open the popup calendar view in a year view. Add an preference to specify the Default Event Calendar that will be selected when adding new event.Nice work, keep it up!

It just works. Clean, simple, and quick views of calendar, appointments, etc. Just what I was looking for. Had been using itsycal but after High Sierra update, had issues with itsycal taking up unreasonable amount of resources, especially memory. Problem solved with EzyCal.
