Welcome in PlayMotus for iPhone and iPad, inspired from the famous TV game show Lingo, halfway between a Mastermind and a word game!
The goal is simple: you must find a word whose only the first letter is displayed in six attempts. If a letter is present and well placed, it will be displayed in red. It it is present but misplaced, it will be displayed in yellow. And if not present, the box will stay blue.
Four game modes are available:
▪ Classic : you must find ten words in a given amount of time.
▪ Time Trial : you must find as many words as possible in a given amount of time. When you find a word, a few seconds will be added to your timer!
▪ Survival : no time limit in this mode! Just try to find as many words as possible, you play as long as you find words!
▪ Training : a lovely game mode without any time limit :)
Customizable options:
▪ Keyboard type: ABCDEF, AZERTY or QWERTY.
▪ Word language: English or French dictionaries are available.
▪ Word length: 5 to 12 letters.
▪ Word difficulty: easy, medium or hard.
▪ Start playing from the first or the second letter.
▪ Start playing rather from the initial location, or the first non-found letter.
▪ Use the hint keyboard, showing the current letters state (away, not played yet...)
A few numbers and information about the application:
▪ Play with almost 300.000 English words from 5 to 12 letters! Every existing word is accepted. You can also try the French mode and play with more than 350.000 words from the "language of Molière" (in that case, proper nouns and conjugated verbs are not allowed unless they are present or past participle).
▪ Three levels of difficulty based on the words frequency in several search engines.
▪ The "politically incorrect" words will be accepted but not played in game.

The app closes after a certain amount of rounds in the multi game and then my home overheats and closes the app. Not to mention WAY too many ads

the only other review here says that the game performs badly, which is absolutely not what I found. I only played the classic mode, and it worked flawlessly and it even looked like the show itself when I used to watch it as a child and teen on France2. No bugs at all, but those ads ….

Playing this game was really frustrating because the game didn’t recognize several basic words as words. “Prince” was the one that astounded me.

Performance is extremely bad. Needs to be restarted after each game. Ads don’t help.
