SLOWLY is hands down one of my all time favorite services. I’ve always loved the idea of having a pen pal as a kid, never had one, but now I can as an adult. I can connect with people all over the world who ultimately and genuinely want to do the same thing, find new friends and people to connect with in a non threatening, safe, friendly and pleasant environment. I’ve never had a bad experience since using this app. I’ve had someone explain to me what helium is in detail out of the blue but that has been the strangest experience. As far as I know there aren’t any creeps lurking and the people on here really are looking to learn about you as an individual and share experiences and stories. It’s also a great therapeutic outlet to be able to open up to someone who could have completely different life experiences and yet still find common ground in those differences and provide support. The ability to choose topics of interest and match with people solely on that, and not on looks or other “vain” parameters is amazing. I especially enjoy the fact that it operates like actual letter writing, simulating letter delivery times. It really helps curb the instant gratification feeling. And the stamp feature is pretty neat as well. I’d recommend this app to anyone truly looking to find me friends from all over the world. SLOWLY is really helping me build a global network of friends.

I don’t typically write reviews for apps, but there’s always a first time for everything, right. I downloaded this app in 2020 and still use it to this day. The reason why I love this app is because it’s so unique. Like sure you could just meet people on platforms and have instant contact, but where’s the fun in that. This app, it gives the true pen pal experience and it’s very easy to navigate. As someone who has looked at other websites/other pen pal services years ago, this one is hands down the best. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Also can we talk about all the stamps lol. I wish I had a real life collection of them. There are so many unique ones and I love that. Additionally, I love that this app is for people of all ages. I have pen pals that are freshly adults, but I also have pens who are in their 40’s and 50’s. I like that it’s inclusive. The only thing I would maybe suggest, no limit for penpals or higher number for non plus members, and video feature. I guess in real letters that’s not possible. But we do have audio on this app, so could videos maybe be a possibility? That’s all I could really ask for. Anyways, I hope that anyone considering this app checks it out, and I hope you all find wonderful pen pals like I did!

Whoever created this app thank you genuinely from the bottom of my heart, I’m emotional-I really mean it!! This app is the real deal but that being said, it takes effort to get to know each other. Our culture today is so much about ghosting or flaking out! I have downloaded countless friendship apps and it’s a week of instant chatting never to hear back again or many apps is anxiety inducing because of picture and people wanting to talk to you just because of how you look! Sometimes I get reached out just because of how I look, and nothing else, it’s frustrating :( I have always craved wholesome, deep and genuine friendships and this is the first app where I feel like I’m connecting with real people. The avatars are so cute and people are on this platform because they too crave real friendship which is a win win! I’m really grateful to the creator of this app, it’s so innovative to bring pen pal into a modern app! I have been feeling lonely and depressed during quarantine but tbh my whole life and this app actually gives me hope!! I hope the app continues to stay have a free version! I have met a few incredible people already and I can’t wait to make friends all around the world!
