I’m a huge fan of this game, and the previous. Play it every day. Very few complaints. But I do have one big one. Once I manage to get lucky enough to procure enough prestige points to upgrade a vehicle, the fact that I must go through the ENTIRE upgrade process again is a shame, and a waste of my time. I have already experienced (and have!) this vehicle leveled up to 10. So now I must go from 1-10 to experience 10-12 and beyond, really? And again for SX?! What do you think I am, a robot with nothing else to do? All I have is an unplayable car before it exceeds the max of the previous level because I would simply use the maxed out previous vehicle if I needed to compete with it. I understand that there are no freebies and one must work to upgrade, I totally get that. So my suggestion would be to give credit for upgrade coins good for ALL vehicles in that series when driving a maxed car. So for example when I upgrade the buggy to GT and the GT comes at stock zero levels, fine, but when I drive the original maxed out buggy, instead of when collecting coins for that car “nothing” happens, add those coins to the balance of the GT vehicle. What would be the harm in that? That way I get to continue enjoying the full power of the vehicles I ALREADY OWN while working to upgrade the GT/SX versions without actually having to mindlessly grind out track 1 over and over and over again simply to collect coins for a vehicle that won’t be competitive until it’s maxed. For an otherwise brilliant game, this is a good way to turn off all but your most patient loyal fans.

I was excited to discover this game after playing the original for the last year or so but it has been a disappointing experience so far. First of all, the ads were out of control so I decided to pay for the ad-free version. This made the gameplay a little more enjoyable, especially if I got stuck on a level and needed multiple attempts. I will say that there is a decent opportunity to earn currency by electing to watch ads and completing challenges, this is a slight improvement over the original. My complaint lies with the Highway 2 Wealth feature. The first time I played it, I was able to make it to level 46 before collecting my rewards and ended up with about 40k gems as well as workshop (tokens?) and some prestige. Every time I’ve played since then I can’t get past level 6 without hitting bombs that require 4k gems to continue (the first bomb hits on mile 2 every time now). Today I experienced something rather strange, I got to level 11 somehow but when I was unwilling to pay to continue I selected to exit. Due to some glitch or something with the app, I was able to keep playing that same level on an infinite loop; regardless of which card I selected I got the bomb over 20 times in a row. This can only mean one thing in my opinion, the app is written to give you a large payout on the first attempt in order to get you to continue playing and then force you to pay in after that, this seems very dishonest. I feel a little cheated by this feature as it is the only way to earn workshop currency to add skins, etc.

Promising, but more frustrating than anything

It’s nice they redid this and came up with some new features, but what handcuffed the original version is exactly what makes this version just more of the same. Skill/ability does not factor in this game as much as it should. If you aren’t going to buy your way into qualified vehicles/upgrades, your forced to replay the sales levels over and over again inching slightly farther than your last dozen attempts as you inch your way up the upgrade ranks to finally beat the levels. You can’t beat the higher up levels unless you upgrade the vehicles to comparable levels which take skill and ability out of the equation, so your forced to replay the same track over and over and over again nickel and diming your way through the upgrade component to finally complete the track. It’s the same problem that existed with the first game only now there’s more chances to spend your real money with a multiplayer component, but even with that it’s the dreaded fuel usage issues with games that require you to either pay for fuel just to play, or wait 2 hours for your fuel to refill to race one more time. A lot of potential, just not executed with the player in mind.

Sorry to hear that the game was not what you expected. If you stick with it you may find it surprisingly fun, or you probably just need to upgrade your car and keep trying, but I'm sure you'll manage to win sooner rather than later. Also, we are continuously monitoring where people are getting stuck, and it's possible we'll roll out an update soon which makes things slightly easier. - Hutch Games
Great idea, but falls short

I play the original version of this game and feel as though it may still be superior to the second installment due to the fact that upgrading vehicle types to their next tier are now a chance game. Where as before it came down to how much did you want to play. The micro transactions were still there if you did not want to grind out the time ( which I did in some cases) but honestly this new version feels like a greedy cash grab over the quality of gameplay I’ve come to love from this developer. Can it be fixed? Probably, will they? Who knows, the game potential is there, but we’ll just have to see where the game direction ends up.Update: sadly the game did not live up to its predecessor. It’s all mostly locked away behind pay walls and chance. I had such high hopes for this game and even reached out to the developer trying to understand why they would willingly ruin such a great IP. Unfortunately all I got back was some lame excuse of player choice and “new and interesting dynamics” which really translates to “ the first was so great and we made lots of money, we just want more!” I’ve since deleted the app with much regret and disappointment in what’s become MMX. Better luck next time and hopefully they learn from their mistakes.
