Solve equations, simplify algebra, take derivatives and integrals, work with matrices, and visualize results in 2D and 3D from one app.
Whether you need an exact symbolic answer, a decimal approximation, or a graph, SymCalc keeps the full workflow in one place. Store your work in reusable sessions, assign variables, define your own functions, and come back to your calculations later.
- Solve single equations and systems with exact or numerical results
- Simplify, factor, expand, substitute, and find roots, limits, sums, products, and Taylor series
- Handle calculus tasks including derivatives, indefinite and definite integrals, and differential equations
- Work with matrices and vectors: determinants, inverses, rank, RREF, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, dot products, and cross products
- Graph standard functions, implicit equations and inequalities, polar curves, parametric plots, and 3D surfaces
- Use logarithmic axes, inspect intersections, and adjust extra variables with sliders
- Compute with complex numbers and common scientific functions
- Save worksheets, keep multiple sessions, create custom functions, and export your work as PDF or SymCalc files
- Learn faster with built-in function help and examples inside the app
- Built for students, engineers, scientists, and anyone who needs more than a basic scientific calculator
I like the long visible history, ability to edit, memory variables and many functions. It is a pleasure to use. Though I probably use 1% of its abilities.
Has serious flaws on ipad

This works quite well on an iPhone. However on an IPad there is no 2nd function to select an operation on the last answer which is frustrating. For example the only way to operate on the last calculation is to press either * , / or +. There is no way to subtract from the last calculation without either copy and pasting or entering the whole result again. There ought to be an “ans” function like on a normal calculator. If you want to say take square root of the last calculation what do you do? Please enlighten me if I’ve missed something.

I taught calculus and differential equations at a local university. I recommend this app for anyone who wants to do math. My PhD is in theoretical physics and I’ve ended up being an applied mathematician. The app is amazing!
Great advanced calculator app

I love it! So glad the new version is out with 64 bit compatibility. Great tool for students.
Major graphing upgrade:
- implicit equations and inequalities
- parametric curves
- 3D plots
- polar plots,
- tap an intersections to see its exact or decimal coordinates
Also bugfixes, many minor improvements (including dark mode) and adjustments for recent iOS versions and AppStore requirements
